yet another clay/Zaino question

I'm hoping you won't mind my asking for a bit of confirmation. I'm in high-anxiety mode, getting the white Jag ready for her 1st Concours of the season. I have a good base of Z2. But the finish feels like maybe claying again would be a good idea.

Thus the 1st question: I can clay over Zaino and that won't remove the Z, right?

I now have some Z5 on hand, and there are a few tiny microscratches on the car. (I'm actually thinking they may be in the Z, not in the clearcoat.) So I'm thinking that it might be a good thing to use the Z5 to hide those. Right?

Then I'll proceed with Z2/ZFX as usual, and plan to top with S100 for the big show.

Thanks in advance for any Autopian feedback. You all have offered zillions of other good tips that I've employed on the interior and on the vinyl and chrome trim.

I think the clay will take off some Zaino but not a lot. It's a moot point if you are planning to slap on some more Z anyway.

Try the Z5 for the microscratches to see if it will do what you want it to. But if the scratches are in the sealant its pretty hard to cover them up with any product short of a filler glaze.

Post some pics before the show so we can see the Best In Show winner before its announced. :)

Sal has not said how much Z layer you lose but he has stated that around the contminate all the zaino will be gone......

He recomends either following up a clay session with either Z1 or z2(5) mixed with ZFX........
