Yesterdays Tahoe

Sorry for the lack of pics...I got started really late in the day, it was overcast for half the day and I usually have someone there to take pics but I was alone on this one.

Process was:

Wash with Meguiars Gold Class

Clay with Meguiars Clay Kit

Certain spots got Long Hauk Bug & Tar Remover

Hi-Temp EC via PC on an orange pad

Cleaned oxidized plastic with Klasse AIO

Waxed with Collinite IW by hand

Dressed tires and wheel wells with Meguiars spray tire shine

(I really need to find some well priced gallon dressing, thinking about Meguiars Silicone Free next)

You can see the swirls in the flash here

This is a taped down side by side comparison of the correction

No more swirling with the flash

Tires and everything else dressed

That's what it says, but it came out streaky so I just used it to buff out the oxidation and then applied some collinite iw since it doesn't stain anything to make it look even. I really wish I had pics of it but it was too dark at night, I really noticed the difference on the back by the edges of the windows.

Meguiars Silicone Free dressing is not that good... Last all of 4 hours...

Meguiars Hyperdressing or All-Season dressing are much much better.

I went through the same need with big truck tires.

Meg's Hyper Dressing is very economical at 3:1 and lasts quite a while.

Nice correction with the Hi-temp EC. :) Did you follow your orange LC pad/HTEC combo with anything else (as far as correction), or does the EC leave it looking that nice, LSP-ready? If so, did you change you speed on the PC or arm movement speed at all?

Thanks, keep up the nice work!

Pete

Yep, went from HTEC to lsp. The paint was pretty hard, I tested a panel with a white pad and OP thinking it was single stage paint and it didn't even touch anything nor did I get any paint transfers, then I tried OC on an orange pad and it barely made a mark. Usually I can get a ton out with the OC/orange combo on most of the cars I do so when that combo made no mark I knew I had to use something stronger.

Wow, you got that much correction with orange/pc/htec? How long did it take you? That's pretty impressive!! On the pad, was it the flat orange pad/vc/ccs?

Flat pad, the Wolfgang ones. I started around 12 ish and didn't finish until 7 ish...it was really hectic so I didn't really notice the times.

Again, very impressive correction via PC.......not only that but went straight to LSP afterwards??!! Yeah, I definitely gotta try that. Going straight to LSP from cutting would be a huge timesaver.

I have had much better results with PB Trim Restore for the exterior trim than with HD.

I love my trim restorer but I wish I could order something a little more cost friendly/larger sized. I am looking to use it under wheel wells, running boards, vinyl trim etc so it goes pretty quickly.

I went from HTEC/OP with a rotary at 1200 - 1500 to Zaino AIO to LSP (Zaino) today on an Infiniti G35. EC/OP finished down perfectly!

Have done the same in the past with a white CCS pad. :cooleek:

Great work on the tahoe!
