Yep, more details! (including a car I'd never done before!)

BMW M Coupe-this customer was a referral from rlspringer (thanks Rick :wavey ). Car was in very good shape, so all the paint needed was a glaze and wax, so I used Vanilla Moose and Carnauba Moose.

Here is a Mercedes S500 that I wash weekly. I tried a different route with this one since carnauba based waxes do not seem to last long on this particular car (but work fine on the S55 right down the street...go figure). I used Poorboys Polish w/Carnauba and EX Sealant.

Here is a close up of the trunk lid. Decent reflection if I do say so myself. ;)

On to this Lexus LS430. It is only a few month old and this was the second time I've waxed it. Obviously the paint is still pretty much pristine. Vanilla Moose/Carnauba Moose. BTW, this car has the absolute softest leather I've ever felt!

Here is my Dad's 626 that he bought from my brother. My brother had it for about 18 months and never waxed it (I had even offered). It had streaks, swirls, etc, but oddly didn't need to be clayed. Anyway I went over it twice with Meguiars Swirl Free Polish, once with Vanilla Moose, once with Poorboy's Polish w/Carnauba and topped with Carnauba Moose. Massive improvement!

I'm assuming the M Coupe was the one you had never done before? They are such awesome cars. Do you know what year it was because the 01+ are very quick little things. Heard them running 13.1 stock and of course they handle spectacularly.

that's awesome, please tell me you didn't complete all these in one day? i have trouble getting mine done in one day....lol

Greg-I believe the M Coupe is a 2001, but I am not positive. It has the 240 hp engine if that helps. Really cool car too an it looks even better in person.

LightngSVT-I do all my work by hand, but newer paints are harder than when I started my business in the early 90s, so a PC is on my short list of stuff I need.

Dinzdale40-Those details were spread out over a couple of weeks. Most of the cars I do each week are regulars, so I only take pics if I use something different on them.

My Mom called me today to let me know what my nephew said when she picked him up in the Mazda (the 626 in this thread). He told her "this car now looks like a new, expensive, shiny car now".

Awesome work!!:xyxthumbs Vanilla Moose is awesome! I've used a few times on my customer's vehicles, and the responses are usually some hefty tips!!!!:xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

Maybe its the 02+ that has the 330 HP engine. Either way, great cars, but the newer ones are just quite a bit faster.

Oh, Scott, you can't just dump liquid glass on that Benz and say you "detailed" it. j/k, all of them look great.

Yeah, I can imagine a nearly 100 hp jump would have a postive effect on performance!

:lol It was weird, I've been regularly cleaning that S500 for about a year now (probably waxed it 4 times) and I had to use some Swirl Free on the trunk lid to remove some minor scratches then finished the whole car off with PwC and EX and as I walked by the car on the driver's side, I caught the reflection of the trunk lid and ran to grab my camera. It just looked unreal.

Great results!

I'm curious about your method here. My impression of what most people do is work one area until it is done, then move to the next. Is your "twice" two "polishes" where the product breaks down and you move onto the next section? So if you worked a section once and then decided you weren't done and put some more product on and worked it again, that would be twice?

Or was it a time factor....you went around the car once, then realized that you had time to seek a higher level of perfection?

I'm not trying to criticize your writing, I really want to know just how much work you put into these.

Beautiful details!

Can't speak for US spec mopdels, but the Euro spec M Coupe & Roadster have 321bhp and are huge fun (pal of mine has a roadster and get the tail out on a greasy roundabout even with the traction control & stability control switched on!).

Believe it's same engine fitted to previous generation M3 although last spec M Coupe had the E46 M3 unit fitted I think.

I am in love with that M Coupe in general. Everytime I see one (rarely), I almost crash or I stop to chat. Something about them that just stands out from any other car... Scott, any other shots of the M?

That Benz trunklid is NO FAIR :D. The paint looks soo vibrant and clear! I thought the S-Class (mercedes in general?) had a lot of orange peel, if I can remember from one of your other posts? Looks level to me there.

I will say it again about the Mazda...hehe. I think you should send it to Mazda for their Certified Pre Owned Ads. It looks like you clipped it out of a magazine!

Awesome work as always! You're always an inspiration :)

Good Question, I want to know now too.:D

I'll second that! Should have said in my earlier post what fantastic work as always but got a bit carried away with engines in BMW's - sorry Scottwax.

At least I now have a goal - to make my red look 25% as good as that M Coupe....I'd be a happy boy!
