Yankee Candle Car Jar

Okay, I must revive this thread because well, I bought a yankee candle leather thingamahoo dispite me not having leather.

One of my friend's said it smelled like old man.

Another said my car smelled like hotel room.

Another said it smelled like plastic.

Nobody likes the smell of it, and neither do I. grrrr :)

I have the leather & really like it. I just cut one end off, then after about 2 months, cut the other off. My center console has the heat & ac that runs through it to the back seat, so I just lay it in the bottom of it. Releases the perfect amount on a consistent basis.

To me, the leather jar is the exact same smell as the Zaino Leather cleaner.

I think a better way to go is to get the Zaino leather conditioner...makes the same leather store smell and conditions your leather for a few bucks more.

Gotta disagree with the above 100%. Now Griot's air freshner really does smell like Z10 IMHO :)

I recently purchased 4 packs of the "leather" auto air freshener in a jar from Yankee candle.

I opened it up in the office and took a poll of what it smelled like.

Note, no one said leather.

Here are the responses:
  1. Old mans butt (don't ask me how that person knew the smell :chuckle: )
  2. Old vinyl
  3. Beef jerky
  4. something rancid
  5. sweaty t shirt
  6. and finally (the office manager told me) please remove whatever you have in your office, it smells.

They are quite gross, but I really don't like the smell of regular leather that much anyway. Infact, I hate the feeling of regular leather in a car. I'd rather have a higher-quality cloth like what comes in some Audi's.
