WTB: I've decided to use #80, follow by #81 by hand...

So after many debates I have decided #80 follow by #81 by hand is the best for me. Where can purchase these? I want them both from a single online store (I checked my local stores they only had #2, #6, #7, #9, #26, #34).

Btw, if you must know, I have a dark blue 1 year old car that's never been waxed. It will be washed --> clayed --> #80 --> #81 --> Reflection is last. All will be done by hand. Feel free to comment on this. :bounce

Have you checked with a local auto paint supply store? They often carry the professional line of products. I would suggest using Meguiars #80 and then following up with Clearkotes Vanilla Moose or Red Machine Glaze then topped with your favorite LSP. That combination will definitely give you a wow factor if done properly. Hand Glaze is a nice product but it's hard to beat the two Clearkote products for ease of use and quality of finish. :)

I've bought stuff HERE before, seemed reasonable enough, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are cheaper sources.

I'm just not a huge fan of VM....not sure why exactly, but for a final glaze that'll hide a lot of minor imperfections, the #80/pure polish approach works better for me.

You might also consider both #5 and #3 instead of the #81. They're about the same thing, and yeah, you can use #3 by hand. #3 is maybe a little easier to use than #81 and #5 *is* easier than most any product I can think of, but #5 doesn't look *quite* as good as #3/#81.

Heh heh, we keep giving ZimmerDN so many suggestions he must be :hairpull

Short answer: yeah, stick with the #80/#81/Reflections plan. Just order the stuff and do it ;) It'll work fine.

One thing for sure, #80/#81 will leave a very wet finish. Very wet!

Just how I like them, Black and Wet.... :nervous: ...only on my cars... :xyxthumbs

So anyway, can anyone point to a online dealer? Besides Meguiars online. I've checked all the local stores already and I am from Canada.

Thanks atticdog... I can finally order this and wax my car.

Now I wonder if their sheepskin washmitts are any good. Or maybe I should just go hand pick them myself at a local store. :dance

Scott what is your favorite way to apply #81? should it be very thin?

Apply it thinly to the entire car, then go back with a thick terry cloth towel to remove the excess. MFs just seem to push the oils around on the surface.
