Wow what an ending!

I doubt Miami will do anything against them, but the Giants have a decent chance. 14*-0 is a good record though. But, like I said earlier, the NFL isn't set up to have people go undefeated and I think it's bad for the league if someone does it.

OMG give me a break with the "*" thing! Personally, I don't think the Giants have much of a chance against the Pats. Jeremy Shocky broke his leg today and is out for the season and Eli is DEFINITELY no Peyton. Bill B's defensive schemes will have his head spinning by the end of the first quarter.

I definitely agree with you though that an undefeated season by any team in the NFL is a bad thing. The great thing about the NFL is the attitude that any team can win on any given Sunday. They've gone to great lengths with the salary cap, compensatory draft picks, etc. to establish this.

They got caught cheating. I'm being nice by only putting the asterisk.

On a side note, congrats to the Colts who secured the AFC South. They're the first team ever to have 5 consecutive 12 win seasons.

They got caught doing something that all other teams have done as well. The Patriots were simply targeted and busted by a former employee with a grudge.

As Scott said, what they got caught doing was something virtually every team in the NFL does. If everyone's doing it do you really gain an advantage?

Also, what in the world does spygate have to do with the team's performance this season? They got caught filming (yes filming not watching the film) during the first half of the first game of the season. Within a week they were ordered to turn over any other such films and they were destroyed. So, the team has not had the use of any sideline films during the entire season.

Finally, I would like to say "yay! The Colts had another great regular season." How many times have they won the Superbowl or even been in the big dance in the last 10 years?

The thing is, virtually every team didn't get caught cheating. Without any evidence, you can't prove that everyone else was doing it. It does make you wonder how many years they did benefit from it though. I don't have anything against the Patriots other than the cheating. They are a talented team with most of their players being good sportsmen. As for the Colts, I remember them doing fairly well last year.

Just because one cannot prove that it happened doesn't mean it isn't happening. It sounds to me like you're trying to talk yourself into believing that spygate was a big deal and aren't even convincing yourself. It seems to me virtually every coach and ex-player has chimed in saying even if they had the hand signals it's not an adavantage. Only the members of the media who have never and will never play or coach make this into a big issue to drive up ratings.

The Colts did win the Superbowl last year. Mostly thanks to a couple of REALLY bad calls that went their way in the AFC championship game. Every team benefits from some bad calls every once in a while and it's all part of the game. These were some particularly horrible bad calls though.

Anyway, the Colts have one ring. Yippee! Talk to me when they win 3 in 4 years and have been to the Superbowl 4 times in the last ten years. The Colts have traditionally been a great regular season team. Which is nice because it gives the Colts fans a good ride during the season. However, they don't often make it to the big game.
