Wow! R. Rouseys first lost

It was the first girl on girl knockout I've ever seen and I personally felt it was a big step forward for women.

For as long as I can remember women fighting has never been accepted and women didn't have someone (with knockout power) to look up to as tuff, like they do now.

Really impressed with the fight!

I've been super impressed with female fights too! Very exciting. I never thought I'd ever go out to a sports bar or ale house just to see a female fight. I watched the fight at Jensen Beach Ale House with a few friends, and as I looked around, there were a lot of tables filled with all females who came to watch the fight. It's very cool to see.

Now if boxing can get popular again, I'd be really happy. There have been some awesome boxing fights and events recently on Spike.

Holm's footwork was very good too. If there's a rematch I seriously doubt Ronda can beat her, Holly outclassed her in every way. Ronda even took her down and Holly recovered and got out of it. She actually took Ronda down too. Im glad she won, she seems like a really nice person. She's also a certified bad ass in my book.

I started out as a RR fan, I mean she had to earn everything. But, after fame went to her head, she got cocky and started believing her smack talk. That little fit she had at weigh in reminded me of a middle schooler, not a champion. Holly had easily won round one and if she didn't get KO'd, Ronda would have lost round two also. Holly showed she was not only the better fighter, but she had class too. She went and knelt down when RR was flat on the canvas. Will there be a rematch, I doubt it. RR is no dummy, she has movie deals in the works and I doubt she wants another beat down. But, you never know!

Agreed and not to mention with the movie money in front of her she needs to do what she can to make sure people want to watch her on film. Getting her faced busted up like she did in the fight isn't in her best interest. She always said that she knew she would retire undefeated. When I heard her making this comment I knew her day was coming.

I do not watch boxing but saw the clip. Ronda looked winded almost the entire match while chasing Holly. She could not land much but left herself open for multiple hits and the loss.

There has been some talk comparing RR to Ali. Give me a break! Ali could talk junk, but, you and even his opponent knew it was just to hype up the fight. What we have here is like the red neck that said, hold my beer, watch this, then wakes up in the hospital. We all get a laugh and sense of you deserved that. The only thing she can do is admit Holly tore her a new one and either retire (smart move) or hype up a rematch and if she does, I'm betting on Holly.

No one can ever be what Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali was, and anyone that thinks there is even a remote comparison is delusional or has not ever really studied the Champ's career...
That's funny, Junebug - thanks for sharing..

This times a million.... There will never be another Ali and no one will ever come close. You are talking about the height of heavy weight boxing and Ali toyed with them.

I love how the talking heads (media) always compare new sport figures to some of the greatest we have seen. Someone is always compared to Jordan, Nicklaus, Ali.... Etc.

I just want to say I'm on team Tyson :) I don't think anyone will ever come close to how he dominated.

Holyfield says Hi .

No Holyfield didn't dominate, but Tyson was suppose to beat the crap out of him and Holyfield handed it to him.

I am a fan of Tyson also. Always love watching Tyson highlights.

Tyson some would argue - dominated in a less than stellar division in his time. Though I would argue look at Larry Holmes dominating Ray Mercer as an old man and Tyson wipe him out 4 - 5 years earlier. Prime Tyson was really '86 through '88. He was at best 80% of his prime after. Would he have beaten Holy and Lewis in his prime? I would think so but we'll never know.

Holyfield and Lewis knew how to handle his style.

As far as Ronda, she's gonna reset and re-evaluate putting training in front of her crazy schedule of Movies / Media events. She'll need to work on her stand up / Boxing learning range and setting up her attack - like Prime Tyson - moving her head and not rushing in in straight lines - if she does prepare she'll still have a difficult time with Holm given the ease of how she got wiped out. At least when Tyson got Ko'd, it was over a series of rounds through an eventual beatdown - Ronda just got wiped out easy. Got to love the technique and dedication of Holly Holm.

Funny with all the NFL games on Sunday - Patriot's going 9-0 in a close last second win over my Giants - the talk of the Sports town was still Rousey / Holm. And I never thought even a couple years ago a double headline on a major MMA PPV event would be female fighters. They are every bit as good as the men.

At least it wasn't 14 seconds lol.

I think the vegas books had the over at 1 and a half rounds and i think it was just under that?
