Would six coats of Zaino...

Hey everybody, haven't asked a question in a couple of days, so here it is.

I have a bud who says that his car will be protected for the whole year, just with 6 coats of Zaino...Is this true?

He says that he wouldn't need the exterior done, while I tryied to explain that sap on the paint is a big nono, he was like " HAHA, I have 6 coats of Zaino, this will last me a lifetime!"

It will last a long time, but there are too many variables unknown to determine how long it will really last.

I had 3 coats bead water for ~9 months, but it was properly maintained and qd'd.

My car is a daily driver. It gets garaged in the winter months (Nov-Apr) and is then outside the rest of the year. My Zaino held up very well during a harsh northeast winter for about a good 6 months with just regular washing and QDing. 6 months is my guess since I don't actually know. Only thing I observed is that the slickness, beads and ease of washing went down.

So a full year ? Maybe if the car is a true GQ, barely sees the road and is kept very well. Either way, sap will eventually get to the paint if it sits there no matter what you have on it.

Technically Z6 is not just a quick detailer, it is also a booster. It is a little misleading to say that 3 or whatever number of layers is lasting for 6 months when you are really adding fresh product every time you spray on Z6.

From www.zainostore.com

"Z-6â„¢ Ultra Clean detailing spray is a very important component of the Zaino Show Car Polish system. Formulated with the same polymer-based gloss enhancers, Z-6â„¢ Ultra Clean dramatically boosts and intensifies all Zaino Show Car Polish finishes."

"Z-6â„¢ Ultra Clean forms a tough molecular bond to all Zaino Show Car Polishes to increase gloss, optical clarity, slickness, and protection from the sun and elements."

Just my 2 cents :)

Oh ok...thats for the replies guys. I know that he doesn't quick detail, and it sits outside, and is coverered in sap. I guess I could just go with it, and let him come to me later in the year.

He might get a sappy suprise depending on the sap .. If it can attack clear coat it prolly can attack Zaino.. I know bird poop can.

I did a 04 Maxima today that had 3 blobs of sap on it and it etched into the clear.
