WORST & CHEAPEST thing you can do...

I bought the custom fit mats from highland for my Jeep and they work great. Got the weather-tech mats in another Jeep and while they are more $$, they fit alot better and are thicker.

Who talks like this for $80 floor mats? Is it glamorous to have rubber floor mats these days? I always thought Ballers used only the wool Rolls Royce / Jag Vanden Plas mats and bought new ones when the dry cleaner couldnt get them like new anymore?
 
I have two sets of floor mats for my Infiniti...one that is brand new and one that is pretty beat up. In the winter I tap off my shoes outside the car when I get in, and then vacuum the mats once a week. They always look fine...I don't like the rubber mats.

The dealership actually threw mine in for free when I bought mine. I'm sure most of you should be able to 'haggle' something the next time you're looking for a new car. Afterall, it costs them a LOT less than it would cost you.
 
We bought rubber mats from Sam's club for $19.95. They have a big ridge around the edge to hold water and crud in, and are super heavy. My wife couldn't life them out of the cart to get them in the car. I know they may not look as good as carpeted mats, but all are vehicles are daily users, (kids grandkids etc.) but they save me tons of time in the rare occasion I actually have time to clean the cars. These days of 60+ hour workweeks they are a lifesaver in interior maintenance!
 
I've never bought a car where the delaer didn't "throw them in" upon request. Got two sets with my current car.

I have the BMW OEM rubber floor mats in my car, and they don't look cheap at all. They have a BMW logo and are very thick, heavy and durable. They even have mounting pins so they don't slide around. It's the perfect accessory for NY winters.

That's what I was saying. Mine has the Jaguar cat on the fronts and just Jaguar written on the rears, as well as the pins not to slide around. In my opinion they look much nicer than the original cloth.
 
Here in New Orleans it is not a major issue. But I purchase the clear vinyl mats to go over the factory mats. When I detail the interior I pull them out hit them with an APC, hose off, wipe them off and put them back over the factory mats.

I had an 8 year old Honda Accord I did this to....the original mats looked brand new......
 
When we bought my wife's Lexus, we sprang for the All-Weather mats from the dealer. I have to admit they actually look very nice for rubber mats. Her cloth mats are in a closet somewhere in pristine condition. I will never have the rubber mats in either of my cars. I am one of the ones that just doesn't like the look of them. Anytime I have had really dirty feet I flip the mats in my cars upside down so all I have to do is just wipe the dirt off the rubber backing.



And yes, I clean the mats in my car fairly often. My father has a Tundra with a tan interior and carpeted floormats and I always cringe when I see the way they look. All-weather floormats certainly have a place for certain people.

Just stupid! Such little $$ (compared to everything else you spend $$ on) goes such a long way in keeping the car clean and smelling better.

Not everyone lives in an area where you need rubber mats. Personally, I wouldn't be caught dead driving around with rubber mats, not even in my car with black interior.

You should definitely experience road salt by the pound. Then your opinion of rubber mats would change. Also very nice when your passengers don't care about your rugs like you do.
 
I bought a set of the weathertechs when we bought the 2007 Edge. It has a camel interior and if I didn't have the weathertechs down, the mats would be trashed.



In the Jeep, I have the origianl carpet mats that I am going to be replacing this spring. They get a good vaccuming once week.



The Mustang has mats over mats, and is in storage for the winter.



The other 2 vehicles in "the stable" are my son's. His 'Stang is in storage and his F150 has rubber mats for winter.
 
Day to day I'm using the factory carpet floor mats... only wear showing is where my heel is while driving... the carpets just getting matted after 15k miles. Anyone who gets in my car KNOWS to not track things in.



For special occasions, car shows, or right after a fresh detail my custom embroidered Lloyds mats go in :D

Sorry, but Audi does not sell $500 mats.



I bought a set of 4 all-weather mats for my A4 for $80.00.
 
You all would be ashamed of my civic. I don't have floor mats and I have wore a whole in the carpet from using the clutch so much.



On a side now racing with mats is not legal in most sanctioned events, and back when I cared more about just being fast I didnt care about my carpet :( I need to lay some more carpet down soon.
