...when buying a new car is not buying the original all-weather rubber floor mats!



People are willing to spend thousands of dollars on a new car, yet when you ask them why they didn't get the all-weather floor mats to keep the car clean, they answer "I don't have that kind of money" :angry :angry :angry



Just stupid! Such little $$ (compared to everything else you spend $$ on) goes such a long way in keeping the car clean and smelling better.
 
I just bought them when I got my WRX, they really help. I'll swap them out in the spring for the regular mats. I don't drive the car that often so I probably would have been OK either way...

That really seems like the thing to do, one set for winter, one set for summer.
 
I agree the rubber mats you buy from a store are horrible looking, especially since they only come in standard color shades and don't have a perfect fit.



However, so far for me at least, all the ones I bought from the dealer specific for the car weren't too bad. The current ones I have in the X-Type at least have a huge patch of tough fabric in the middle. The one's in my wife's light gray interior S40 are the exact color as the carpet, so they blend in nicely. I like hers more though because the edges are about 1 inch high, so guarantee nothing to touch the carpet.



I just can't bring myself to step on the fabric mats when I think about where my feet were a few seconds ago (snow, mud, water, sand, etc).
 
The All-Weather Mats for Audis are super expensive...so I can see where people ***** and complain about them! I think from Audi, they are close to $500...luckily, they came with my car...and boy i love every ince of them!! I have yet to get a drop of snow/salt on my carpets...love it!
 
When I bought my last 2 cars, the all-season mats were among the top of the option list.



I've never used my carpet mats, and they are under my bed somewhere...
 
True but my clients are NOT autotopians ;) we are the few the proud the clean :D we are here to make sure the world does not drive around in trashed out vechiles. I would much rather give my customers rubber matts if I could than nothing at all or cloth matts that get just as bad. It's not stylish but is it ever practicle in these neck of the woods.

That's not always possible in the winter time. I have the all weather OEM WRX mats and they look quite nice for a "Rubber mat". They are there more to serve a purpose than to look good though!!
 
Unless I work on a cattle ranch, you'll never see rubber floor mats in ANY of my vehicles. If my stock ones get dirty beyond repair, I'll just pop down to the dealership and buy another set.

I've got quite an accumulation of tired-looking carpeted mats, but their net worth goes way up during this miserable weather. I even have them for my winter beater :laugh:

You can't take them inside your house, and wash them in your bath tub?

I just traded after 4 years and the dealer could not believe the condition of my rugs and interior. I purchased WeatherTech floor liners for my new vehicle as they had served me well on the last one.

WeatherTech are extremely good.

I would imagine most guys wives would have a fit if they saw their husband washing that garbage off their mats in the bath tub.
