Worked Hard on this Explorer

Here is the process I used

Wash with Zaino Z7

Clayed with Zaino Z18

PBs SSR2.5 with Sonus Orange Pad

PBs SSR2.5 with Sonus Green Pad

PBs SSR1 with Sonus Green Pad

Klasse AIO with Sonus Blue Pad

Topped with #26 and Mothers FX QD

Overall I am vary happy how the truck came out, just depressed at some of the rust forming, clear coar failure, and bad paint from the body shop

BTW I did do the trim (no pictures) with PBs NL but I did not do the wheels, tires, or wheel wells (too tired)

Anyhow enough talk, here are a lot of pics with some commentary

Got most of this scratch out....you'll see later

Got that thing out

Piece of cake

Got antsy and did this with the white porter cable pad and SSR1 (sort of side by side comparison)

Top left corner shows some oxidation, it was far worse than the pictures show all over the car

OK enough of the before pics, here are a ton of afters

This is that scratch from the 1st pic, got most of it out (lots of SSR2.5 with QD, the QD seemed to make the 2.5 last longer)

I like that pic :)

Another one of my favorites

You can see the rust forming at the bottom center, I think it was ****** prep work by the body shop because the car was hit while parked right there

Not too excited about the hood

So what do you guys think? Which pics are your favorite? Any questions?

Thanks!

BTW I forgot to mention. Don't mind the garage, we are moving soon and it is a MESS!!! I shall have a cleaner garage when I move in July

Looks great, looks like you put in a full day on it. :up

Too bad its probably covered in rain now, at least you get to see how #26 beads ;)

You are correct in your assumption....she is covered in rain and #26 does bead real well :)

Except you were incorrect with the amount of time....Spent 3 days on it (1st 2 days exterior, last day interior) took a total of 10-12 hours, but the car was in real bad shape

I plan to use Natty's one day...but Souveran is just a little too expensive for me. Darkness, and reflection are def a plus on #26 though....pretty good stuff for $5 a can

Thanks for the comments everyone, it really makes me feel good that I could achieve such a difference on only my 1st attempt with a PC

My favorite picture is the one with the rust on the bottom center. I was scrolling down the pictures when I came to this one and said in my head, "this guy forgot a scratch."

Was going to post right away to inform you but then I really worked at looking again. It was just a reflection of the chain.

Isn't it funny how the mind percieve's what it see's. At least it is for me.

nice work!

awesome before and afters,

what about that TA behind it ;)

The TA is my baby, i'll be doing it either this upcoming week or the following week...I have some paper to write for school and some other projects, but I can't wait to get her looking pretty:cool:

Very nice i like to see the older cars/trucks. I love my 97 jetta and it's got it's fair share of "imperfections" and one fender is also rusty due to some shoddy body work. that can (and will) allways be fixed though. :up
