wool pads...which ones....which cutting polish

Hmmm...I'm following this thread too. As I play around with the M3 I'm doing many, many passes with the H-T EC/orange or yellow/1500 or higher/some pressure. And when I say "many, many passes" I don't mean just five or six! I hardly ever do something this bad, and I'm gonna end up having it painted anyhow, but *MAN* is it frustrating to spend literally hours with even the rotary. Gives me a whole new appreciation for what the Pros on these boards have to do all the time.

maybe try some wetsanding- I'm temped to try that on the hood of my TA.

I'll bet some 4000 grit sandpaper would clear that BMW up real nice. Just enough to knock down the surface a bit.

Is 2000 too aggressive to use by hand?

What do you mean "by hand"? Actually sanding with your bare hand and not with the help of a sanding block? Or something else? I wouldn't think about using 2000 or 3000 on that vehicle with that type/degree of problem.

Heh heh, seems like *everybody* thinks I oughta wetsand the M3! My painter (who wonders why I'm doing anything at all since he's gonna be reshooting it) has seen it and thinks I oughta use *1500* on it for the first passes! I might play around a little, I have 2-3-and 4000 grit, but only the 3K is my preferred Unigrit stuff.

Thanks-I'll just use some HTEC and live with what I can't get out.
