Wolfgang on a Red Wrangler with a hefty interior cleanup

So, I was supposed to do this Wrangler last week, but rain forbid. Anyways, I will be washing this along with a Sienna and a boat once a week.

So the owner mentioned she wanted to get new carpets put in and I asked why. She showed me how messy they were. I told her how they would go in and that they'd be cheaper since they were in sections (she'd just buy the backseat sections). But I told her to let me go at them and then we can talk from there. I vacuumed em, then pretreated with APC+ 8:1, shampoo'd with my oxy mix x 2 and then extracted. She was amazed!

I did the rest of the interior with Water:Woolite (6:1) and protected with 303.


For the exterior, the paint was pretty clean. It is a '97 and has been garaged since. They only wanted a light polishing and sealing so I chose Wolfgang. I love it on red, so I had to do it :D . My final steps were:

-Mother's Gold Wash
-Wolfgang Pre Cleaner via rotary and LC polishing pad @ 1000rpm
-Wolfgang Sealant via hand

-AA on tires, wells, all plastic trim, and softtop
-Rain-X, then Gliptone glass cleaner on all glass

I was quite happy with the results as was she. I will be layering Wolfgang as I go, so I will keep the results posted here.

Good job on the carpets. I have had good luck with Oxyclean in the past, but I haven't used it since I got my Lil' Green Machine. Before that, I was using my wet/dry vac to get all the water out.
 
Thanks Nick, I enjoy using my oxy mix. I used to use Shout OxyPower since it performed better over standard OxyClean, however it has recently become very hard to come by. How do you like the Lil Green Machine? How does it actually work, just extracts water out?

Thanks Woob, AA=Armor All...Gliptone Glass Cleaner is great and it's cheap. A tall 20oz aerosol runs about 3.xx and cuts through hard dirt, grease, bugs, doesn't streak, and it window tint safe. I have a case of it :D . It is a Craftsman 5.0hp wall-vac. I remove the filter to extract the water out. I find that works better.
 
groebuck: WG pre cleaner works great on the rotary. Think of it like using a PC but just a little bit more mmmph. I don't apply much pressure and the speeds are relatively low (for a rotary). However, I noticed a nice difference between applying it and not applying it (side by side). I haven't found a need for a PC yet, I just excercise the pads, pressures, and speeds with the rotary.

I was just about to ask you about the need for a PC but I guess you just answered it.
Have you used a PC before ?
I'm wondering if I should get the PC now or go for the rotary right away. Especially after seeing you at the PB Detailing Day with the Makita I'm leaning more towards that.
 
Hey that jeep is too clean , Jeeps are suppose to be dirty. Very nice work on the carpets. I have some mats I'll send you to take care of. jk:lmfao
 
I like the lil' green machine, but that alone probably would not have yielded the results you got. It does have a hot water/solution reservoir and a dirty water reservoir. I usually pre-treat with a variety of products, and also use Top of the Line's Rug Renew for the solution.

kartoon: As long as you pratice before going straight to a nice car, you are fine. Go buy cheap panels from the junkyard or if anyone has a beater, do it on theirs. Once you get the hang of it, you will learn to utilize the speeds, pads, pressures, and products used effectively. Good Luck.

Nickc0844: Interesting. Do you scrub the carpets/upholstery first or just go straight to the green machine?
