Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire Gel Review

I FINALLY got to clean my car today. 9 days and no washing was killing me...so were final exams, projects, and assignments, but anyways...

Washed with QEW and dried with a WW MF. I used Z16 on them 9 days ago and they still looked black, but with no shine. I used the supplied applicator and started working a little bit of gel in to the tire by applying to the applicator first. A little goes a long way if you work it in well. This is the key with gels becauase if you "shlack" it on there you're in for SLING CITY!

I waited 10 minutes after the initial application and went over any light streaking it had. The look for me was a very low sheen. It was a touch more matte than AA. I describe the look as "classy". Something I'd like on my customer's cars since it doesn't make the tires the focal point.

I let it dry for 1 hour and hit the corners. I was goin along pretty quick and when I got back, no slinging whatsoever.

Recap: A little goes a long way with this light scented gel. Leaves a very low sheen that doesn't sling.

Applied to both tires and rims. That's my pup Buckley :D

Thanks Sean for the review. I was wondering how Wolfgang might compare to Pinnacle and a few of the other more expensive gels. Looks good to me.

Love Fido! Did he give his approval.

What kinda dog is Buckley? I want one :(

Anyways, I think the WG tire gel is great. Lasts a pretty long time and looks awesome. Good review, Sean.

Great dog! Very cute!

Tires look great. The matte look is classy and blends well with the black winter wheel trim.

Nice review GSRstilez, The tires look great! I'm going to have to give it a try as soon as the Tire Wax wears off or do you think I could layer the Gel right on top of the Tire Wax (Turtle Wax)?

Dr. Groove: I have not used both, but Lee (SilverLexus) has stated he prefers the Wolfgang over the Pinnacle.

Matt: Beagle

raven: I don't see why not. However, for best results I still like to go by what the package says. They suggest a clean tire.

Glenn: I don't think so. Minimal if any cleaning abilities.

Thanks for the comps :)

I used the Wolfgang Tire Gel this past weekend. I think its a very nice product. Like Sean said...more of a less gloss look/mattish look and no sling. I am not a big fan of tire gels but I am glad that I got this product to try.

I like the Wolfgang tire gel as well.... Have had it on the truck for 5 days now...still looks as good as it did when I put it in. I have even wiped the tires dont afew times to get dust off them.

jax: Pretty similar in quality and durability. Wolfgang is a gel compared to BnB and Z16 as water based liquids. The BnB and Z16 are a touch glossier. I like them all, but more research on Z16 and WG Gel needs to be done.

Nice review sean. How does Wolfgang Tire Gel compare to z-16 or bold n bright? :up

Here's my 2 cents:

I haven't tried my Z16 (thanks Lee) sample yet, but have been a BNB user for several months. In comparison to BNB, the look seems slightly more satin on my tires...it is a very deep & wet look without looking like plastic or looking oiled. It held up through rain pretty good last weekend which gives it an edge over BNB...my only complaint with BNB has been its durability.

The Wolfgang is a pure protectant and does not seem to have any cleaning power like BNB does.

I'll be interested in hearing what others have to say.
