I got a free sample of Wolfgang Auto Bathe. I have wanted to try this product for a long time so I was very happy to get a sample. Thank you AG! :D

I can’t comment on packaging and directions as it was a small sample bottle. Other than to say it had a nice Wolfgang label on it. :)

The soap out performed my expectations. I’m not sure why I had low expectations when other Wolfgang products I have used have always proven to be top notch. I think I recall years ago reading that people didn’t like the smell. Perhaps this is a new formula because I did not notice any unpleasant smell. This is a really good soap.

I was surprised at how well the suds lasted. The bucket maintained a good froth of suds past the finish of the wash. I was really surprised at how much work it took to rinse out my Schmitt! The car was fairly dirty and so I got a good feel for the cleaning ability. I would say it does clean well. The lubrication was very good as well.

In summary, I think this is a very good product but I have trouble justifying the cost. When I checked the website it was selling for $19.99 for 16 oz (about $1.25 per oz) where as another popular soap (PB SS&S) sells for about $0.50 per oz.

The Wolfgang site describes it as “extravagant” & “luxury”. I agree with those words, if cost is not a concern this is a good soap to use. I would like to own a bottle, but I just can’t afford the “luxury”

Well, as an update I wish I had more of this soap to try on my very dirty car! I drove down to Houston and on the way I hit a swarm of bugs! Oy is my car filthy now. There is a huge amount of carnage on my front. I would wash it today but it is raining. I fly out in the early AM tomorrow so it looks like I'll have a dirty car until next Saturday. Bug Squash will be used!

It would have been interesting to see how the Wolfgang Auto Bathe performed with it's "Tuff Suds". But as I said early, it is rather pricey! And for someone like me that is on a budget it is hard to justify the cost. Course, my Father always said "you get what you pay for"

Red, I didn't have a thing to add as I've never used the Wolfgang soap. I guess the closest I've come to a "luxury" soap was Sonax Gloss shampoo years ago. It was definitely a pleasure to use as you described, but agree that the price of admission is beyond what I can justify on a regular wash basis, even for our personal vehicles.

In reality I can't even justify paying the shipping plus product costs for a car wash product when there are so many other viable OTS/OTC offerings which do exactly what I want/need my car wash to do....clean. :)
 
What I think I know is this,the washing of any vehicle is a very important step in it self. I had color and clarity problems after the wash "PROCESS" was over.I saw a lesser shine and was thinking the wax was the problem.

I gave Steve PB a call and he gave me a new step by step washing schedule and a spritz while drying.The help and end result was hands down 100% better and the shine was unreal.

This said, soap is not just soap,you must buy a good wash soap and the method in washing also counts.I myself would not buy a soap to wash that cost as much as wolfgang.Again,this is me,it is a soap and other quality wash soap at a lower price is more cost effective and budget friendly.At .50 per oz that's what I would use,the $1.00 plus per oz stuff would be a hard sell.

I would like a sample,but It would be a hard to justify for me and I have never tried it.

Some people need the Rolex, and not the Timex to tell time. Its up to you.:cool:
 
I too like Wolfer's Autobathe.It's definitely one of the better soaps I have used.I've used it on dusty cars to filthy cars. The wash always did the job and left a nice clean finish.
As you said the major drawback is the price. Good review.
