Wiper time...

I`ve been a fan of Bosch wipers for a while now. The OEM ones for my VW are Bosch and have held up for over 2 years. I know the ones on the Expedition are almost as old. Not sure how old the ones on the S10 are, but are Bosch too.

I just buy Bosch. After trying other and being disappointed I`m just doing Bosch and change them after the winter like clockwork. No issues, no chatter, no scratches.

I usually go to Autozone and get new blades once a year. I get whatever they recommend. They never recommend the most expensive blade and put them on for free. I hate trying to figure out which adaptor fits my car. It takes them half the time it takes me and saves my back and it`s free. What else could it want?

VALEO Ultimates, they are expensive but the best. They are OES for Merc, Audi and Volvo. I used to have Bosch and these blow them out of the water.

Had a heavy downpour Wednesday on the way to work. WOW! The Michelin stealth`s are the best blades I have had on the Xterra. I would but them again no doubt.

These look very nice. I may give these a try next time. Our van is five years old and I just put on the first replacement set last year. I chose Bosch Icons even though my dealer`s service advisor didn`t recommend them. They didn`t lay against the windshield perfectly at first, but after about a month they did.

Installed MICHELIN STEALTH Beam blades this morning. Appears to be a well built wiper. Rear you dont have many choices. It`s a standard 12" rear. Went with rain x standard rear blade.

It looks good, a lot like the Bosch Icon.

I don`t believe I`ve replaced the rear blade on the van yet and it`s five years old. I never use it, but I pick it up to clean under it and it still looks okay.

Yes, they are MUCH higher quality rubber than the Bosch and about the same price. I paid 55$ at the dealer for OEM Volvo to then find out they were Valeo`s through a friend with the same ride. I have been through 4 sets of Bosch Icon, and the rubber gets destroyed far too quickly (4-8 months at most). The Valeos have been perfect for over six months now. I remember because when I bought my car it had OEM, then switched to Bosch and they worked great for about four months.

A nice plus is the Valeo`s appear even cleaner looking than the Bosch.

I run the Icons on the Tahoe. Didn`t like them on the Crown Vic (problematic car when it comes to wipers :( ) and the Audis get the VW/Audi inserts so I can keep them as oe as possible. Heh heh, can`t remember what I use on the Jag, haven`t replaced them for maybe 20 years (probably longer!).

On the topic of wipers, how are Autopians dealing with the wiper arms?

I wash mine with BHBs, which can get into the back side OK to do the springs, then wipe with UQW at the end of every wash (using BHB to get into the back side/spring).

I usually polish once when I buy a vehicle and then just AIO (maybe ZAIO if I need a little cut) and LSP unless something bad happens to them. If I`m lucky, I only have to AIO the backside/spring every few years, but I redo the LSP in there every now and then just to stay one step ahead.

I`ve generally selected BOSCH over the years but am moving towards the Valeo Ulimates. About 40% less than the BOSCH. Good product, too.
