Wipedown Then a Wash...

is a wash necessary for these wipedown products prior to a wax/sealant/coating???

• CarPro Intense Oil & Polish Cleanser

• DuPont PrepSol II™

• Menzerna Top Inspection

• Rohm and Haas Acrysol

• Wurth Clean Solve

If whatever you're cleaning off could mar the surface then I'd wash it first. Products like PrepSol/CleanSolve have zero lubrication/encapsulation so any contamination gets ground against the surface being cleaned.

Ahh, Acrysol is my favorite juice. I frequently wipe down with that and no follow up wash necessary. Just use a MF.

DuPont PrepSol has been changed to DuPont First Klean 3900S, which contains - toluene, isopropyl alcohol, 2.2.4-trimethylpentane, xylene, heptanes, Naphtha, trimethyl benzene, aromatic hydrocarbon,, medium mineral spirits. (Be cautious when using this solvent)

Thanks for the info, I'd missed that.

I'm kinda a Wurth CleanSolve/CleansAll guy myself....for some reason I'm just a sucker for Wurth products.

Yup!

No carcenigenics in New Car Prep, non-combustible, non-flammable.

The same product is available under Ford's MotorCraft label as Tar Remover.

It is considered a "petroluem based" solvent, but uses a new, safe solvent system, which is why Ford and Chrysler Canada have AI private label it for them.

Grumpy
