Wipe Down

i would'nt risk the swirl damage that would be caused just using a damp mf towel, i'd wait to get a qd with some cleaning and lubricity propertys like s&w, fc&s etc.
 
On a car that is just a little dusty, I do not see why a quality damp MF could not be used. Use as little pressure as possible though.
 
I don't see nothing wrong with a damp MF towel either... unless it's really dirty.



Your best bet is to wait till you get a QD for that extra lube.



If you don't have any QD left, try some car wash soap and mix it in a spray bottle of water. That's what I use for bugs on my bumper.

Never. I'd rather put up with the dirt until I was in a position to safely remove it from my car without any chance of marring the paint. It's easier to wait and do it right than put swirls in the car that aren't coming out until the next time the car is polished.

I am a professional and do this for a living. What is your detailing experience? I am also a College graduate and far from stupid. I would be surprised if you had a GED. I use damp MF all the time for various tasks, including wiping down painted surfaces. I have not experienced scratching or marring with this method. I would not recommend it if I felt it would be a problem. Everyone has their opinion, and I respect that. There is no need to resort to childish comments.
