<strong class='bbc'>Ahhhh, the Sanctuary. Yea, I'll keep my cars warm and clean. I will wash and quick detail in my 60 degree garage. No wait, I think I want it warmer. 70 degrees will be nice. That way I can just wear my favorite detailing T-shirt. And look! I can turn on the Rams football game on the TV to keep me entertained while I drink my iced tea. Oooo, they like that warm water flowing over their fenders. Yea, my cars will be perfect, at least before they go to sleep each night.

:p Hee hee, just had to do it! [/b]</blockquote>
I saw the thread topic, and said to myself "self, brad is gonna gloat aboutthe sanctuary.."

Maxine looked like a 3000 pound salt lick until the snow started melting.

On a different note, I was glad to have gotten my PIAA SuperWhites in January. During the worst snowstorm of that month, I was still able to see.

If the temp is above 45, then I wash the car myself. I have a lot of grass in my backyard so I move the car on to the grass (if there is no snow) and wash it, then move it into the garage. I wash it on the grass so my driveway does not turn into a sheet of ice. I try to wash as often as I can because they use tons of salt around here, and I dont want it sitting on my paint.

If I cant wash it myself I go to a touchless pressure washing place. I go every 3-4 days to spray the crap off the car until the temp gets to where I can wash it myself.

It snowed for almost a month straight. Got about 25 or 30 inches total. Then it snowed every other day after that. During that time I hated to dry my car because it was so filthy.

I'm letting you back in the forum because I feel sorry for you now! 30" in St. Louis and we could just close the town.

our average yearly snowfall is 110 inches; I used to love snow days as a kid :D a lot of fresh snow on the ground when the roads are dry and black makes, along with a nice shiny car, just makes your car look the best

Guess I'm lucky to just deal with rain and 50 degrees day after day after day.

Trouble with Seattle weather is that it's a tease. One hour it's bright sun and the next two days it's a down pour with wind. So you wash your car and then it gets dirty going to Starbucks!

I think I will try Brads warm water trick by running the hose up from the basement, over the carpeted stairs, through the foyer and kitchen to the garage and set up a 30gal wet/dry shop vac so it will suck it up as fast as it comes out. Then I can just attach the same hose to the shop vac and let it go out the floor drain in the basement. Isn't gravity a wonderful thing? Now how do I get my wife to leave for a couple of hours so I don't get killed trying this.

It might be easier to just drive over to Brads and pay a fee for his wash bay. It is only 7 miles away! But we got to have Speedvision on instead of the Rams!:D

Let's see, it's cold and nasty out. Send the wife out in the 330ci so you can rig up the hose and wash the 528i. Wife comes back and parks the slopped up 330ci. Send her out again in the 528i so you can wash the 330ci.....over...and over...and over.

Errr, you better just come over to the Sanctuary. I am installing a hi-pressure wand and large rotating brushes soon. You can be the first to try them!;)

GP, you and I were in the same boat. After the snow melted, I had the car professionally detailed.

My biggest problem with winter cleaning is the lack of garage. Outside she sits all day, all night. One day she will have a decent place to spend the night.

As for snowfall, even a couple inches can make my driveway interesting. I'm on a 8% incline that goes up for about 1/8 mile from the road. Not exactly fun. Crap everytime we have to lay salt on the driveway its 100-125 lbs. of salt to de-ice the driveway for almost one car! That cannot be an enjoyable experience for the car.

Off to go and wimper about what I'm going to do this winter,

Brad

I'm glad that I live in St. Louis :) Hey Brad, can I make appointments to visit your sanctuary this winter!!!

John.

will even <strong class='bbc'>fit[/b] in Brads' garage??? I'm sure that there will be an <strong class='bbc'>extra soap[/b] surcharge though!

Can Brad and I contract you to come by each day and take us to work when it snows? That way we can just leave our nice shinny cars in their warm cozy garages.

<strong class='bbc'>THE BEAST[/b] is just over 22 feet. I should actually have mine sometime in early October.

I think that the ride situation could be arranged.... maybe for an entrance & soap surcharge fee? ;) ;)

SteveL, I know the general area that Brad lives in, how about you. I don't work too far away from where Brad lives. I work in Overland on Page Ave.

John.
