Hey Guys,

I need some help here. There was a storm here the other day; my wiper blade broke and scratched my windshield. I've been trying to remove those scratches, but I'm not making any progress. What can I use guys?

There is little that can be done with scratches on glass. I would consult with a good glass shop and see what they say, its my guess that replacement is the solution.

Diamondite has a glass polishing system designed for a rotary buffer, you will need heat to reduce down glass. That said with a windshield I would be concerned about messing up the clarity or distorting the view through the glass.

Also I would be concerned with safety...not the scratches put really bearing down on the wind shield to get a scratch out.

If its really bad I would get it replaced. If you have glass coverage it shouldn't cost you anything.

You might want to check with your insurance company on the cost before you commit to having it done..
I carry pretty high deductibles on our vehicles and I think a windshield replacement costs me over $250 for the deductible.

FWIW, many used car lots will know where to get a windshield replaced at a reasonable (?) cost.

i used a glass kit and rotary to remove these type scratches in my brother's 68 mustang with original glass. he wanted to keep the original windshield.
don't get the glass to hot and keep it wet.
