Bought a 93 Supra & the car is in great shape, the idiot who owned the car before me must have used a brillo to clean the window!

Fine swirl marks all over the windshield.

Any products out there that will help this?

flash_e_gt, maybe I can get the ball started for you. a couple of questions for you. do you have a PC or were you looking to do this by hand? second how much detailing have you been doing?

i think TOL sells a window repair kit. Autoglym also has a polishing kit but i dont think it removes spiderwebs on glass. I was thinking the samething while driving home cause i have spiderwebs on my glass too.

Removing marring in glass is difficult to do. I have never been able to do it. I have gone as aggressive as a cutting pad and 3M PI III Rubbing Compound with a PC on speed 6 and didn't even touch the marring. Maybe a rotary might work.

Nope! tried it and it didnt work.

For deeply etched water spots' or pits (caused by sand or road stones)or other defects in the glass surface, do not attempt to polish them out, consult an automotive glass vendor as glass used on later model cars is soft and thin (this may vary by manufacturer) due to weight / cost savings by vehicle manufactures and polishing could cause glass to crack.

A PC and a glass polish will bring back a glass surface with minor scratches (most of us have done it successfully) much more than that I would consult an auto glass shop.

Hey everyone,

I have tried the kit from properautocare. It can remove 1000 grit scratches from glas without distortion. But the directions must be followed. I used it on a car I purchased to sell right away after some minor things were repaired. It works great for removing wiper streaks on windshields.

Did you use a rotary or a PC?

I 'might' risk it on a car I own but not on a client vehicle

6']['9, figured I would ask, have always wondered if this stuff works. I do not had a need for it, you never know though.

Have to admit I would only try this as a last resort.

Poorboys SSR and pro polish work pretty well

Clay, cutting compound (if necessary), diamondite, poorboys ssr, glass polish and then AIO, VM & sealants should do it.

Have used those products for a while

Agree with TOGWT. Bad pits and chips need to be fixed by a pro glass repairer who I believe injects resin into the glass (read it in some magazine)

Mike Phillips at Meguiarsonline.com recommends #4 (Heavy Cut Cleaner I think?) with either a foam or wool pad via rotary. I'm actually going to top off my arsenal today so I'll test it out this weekend and post the results.
