Will Z5 help remove faint scratches?

Before I discovered this great site, I made the mistake of using microfiber cloths sold at Target. This plus bad technique have left my car with faint scratches that can be seen under certain lighting, especially in parking lots. I plan on using 3 coats of Z5 followed by 2 of Z2. The car is silver. Has anyone had any success with Z5 and scratch removal? I know Zaino just came out with their own scratch removal product, but that is a last resort type of product. I don't need that.
 
Z5 is supposed to hide, not remove, scratches. It's not particularly effective at doing that, however, if yours are very minor, it may work.

Why not polish your car and get rid of the swirls and scratches completely? I think you might be disapointed with all the work you put into Z5 and Z2 if you think it is going to remove or even hide swirls and scratches. In my experience with Z5, it handles hiding faint toweling marks on an otherwise perfectly polished finish, but it can't deal with hardcore swirl marks.



If you're going to put in that much time, polish the finish with a "swirl remover" polish first.

Last resort type product? Hardly. Z-PC (or other similar polishes) are an integral part of the detailing process if you want as swirl and scratch free surface as possible. Z5 fill scratches, it doesn't remove them. If you want your car to look its best, use Z-PC before Z2.
 
I agree Z5 hides or fills minor scratches and swirls, and does a great job of it. If you want them out use ZPC and the correct pad. I always put 1-2 coats of Z5 before Z2 pro, especially after ZPC,#80 of FPII.

Agreed! Z5 only hides ( not removes) the smallest of imperfections. Z5 does a great job after polishing correctly to give the paint its almost perfect look. Then finish with Z2! :D
 
Thanks guys, appreciate it. I have very faint scratches from towels I used previously. I'm now using DF towells. I consider all the above and take it from their. I think I can get away with using just the Z5. If not, next spring I'll go all out and use the ZPC.
