Will this Generator work?

I think it would be too small for your Vac. Check your Vac amp rating and the generator specs.

Watts = Volts x Amps

Amps = Watts/Volts

Also a good rule of thumb would be at least 30% peak over RMS.

I'm w/ nozebleed, and I also think it may be too small for you pc. I can't remember exactley what the rating was, but I have a feeling you would be close to max watts of that gen. Also, be sure you verify the starting amps required for the vac & pc. If you do a search on yahoo or honda's website for "how to buy a generator" you will get some good info.

explorer , I like that unit. I can't quite see what model it is, where did you get that picture from. Thanks for the help.

That looks too small. I would definitely go for at least 2,000 watts, more if you can afford it. Are you planning on running an extractor with your generator? You'll notice a difference in the performance of your equipment too if the generator is not providing enough power. Your equipment will seem sluggish. I would rather have too much power than not enough. I have a 5,500 watt porter cable. It's big, but I can run several pieces of equipment off of it at once.

I'm looking for something small since I won't be out on the road much. I use to have a full trailer setup but I gave that up just about 5 years ago. I have the shop where I do most of my work, but I have picked up a few customers that have small collection that I take care of so doing the work at the storage garage is easier when I have more than two cars to do. Since I can't get power at two of them I need to carry a generator. All of my equipment will be going in to a small car luggage trailer measuring 45"wide by 60"long and 24" deep. Since it will be towed by a Beetle I can't go much bigger and since it's only a few jobs it makes it that much less hassle. Thanks for the input, keep it coming.

I just bought the Coleman Powermate 5500 watt for $500.00 bucks. I can pull pretty anything I need to, but its stays in my enclosed trailer. That small Honda might be the way to go although Honda is very pricey ... but damn good quality :)
