Will Color X or Poorboys polish with carnuba work with a PC?

I just got a great deal on a used PC (7336) on Ebay. I have some Meguiars Color X and Poorboy's polish with Carnuba and I was wondering if these would work ok with the PC? Since these products are a cleaner/wax combo, would a white polishing pad work best?

My cars are almost new and have a few minor swirls and scratches so hopefully it will work great. Thanks for any info!

Welcome to Autopia!

The Poorboys Polish would be fine to use with a PC.

I would not use the Scratch X yet since you stated you have minor swirls.

Remember to always start with the least aggressive method then move up.

A white polishing pad would be good.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for the info and chart twitch. I was going to use Color X with the PC, not Scratch X. I do have some Scratch X but I will use it in the areas I can't get to with the PC.

I think I will use the Color X on my silver car and the Poorboys on my red truck. I think the Color X is a synthetic and it should look great on silver.

Generally, anything that works by hand will work by PC. With products that aren't made for machine application, you sometimes have to watch for things like gumming up on the pad, but the PC isn't really any different from, as somebody once put it, a "really fast hand that doesn't get tired".

ColorX and PwC would be considered direct competitors in their niche - Paint cleansers that leave protection. ColorX is not truly 100% synthetic as it does contain carnauba wax as well.

Thanks guys. I have been using Color X by hand and it is good stuff. I just bought the PWC and I haven't tried it yet.

I have heard good things here about Mothers Power Polish. I'm going to buy some of it and polish my mom's car. It has moderate swirls and will help me practice with the PC.

:doh Whoa crap! :o I could have sworn I saw Scratch X... Oh well haha.

Color X is a great product and can be used with a PC. That you already know from the others who have chimed in.

I prefer Color X over the PWC. I've used PWC and it seemed to dust a good bit and had a tendency to show up on trim.
