will 1Z MP affect the bonding of 4*UPP

It's almost time for my spring detail and I'm thinking of using 4*UPP over 1Z MP but I'm curious if the wax in MP will affect 4*'s ability to bond. Anyone have any experience with these two ( Accumulator? :D )?

You *might* lose a week or two's worth of longevity but that's about it. Why not make a pass with AIO to make sure it bonds perfectly?

Regardless, if it works over VM it will work over MP

If its any help....

I just did a coat of Poorboy's PWC followed by a coat of UPP (this was my first time using UPP) and I thought it worked very well. No bonding issues or anything like that.

Thanks guys, it was what I was hoping to hear. A loss of a week or two is no big deal, especially considering 4*'s ease of application. I had thought about AIO after MP but wanted to save any steps that I could.

Why do it? For the look. For instance, I get different looks on Audi silver if I precede my LSP with AIO or MP (or any other "penultimate product"). It *is* sorta sublte and a matter of personal preference of course. FWIW, my favorite look on this paint is 1Z MP topped with UPP. With the proper prep, it's the best I've *ever* got this paint (just IMO of course).

I had minor bonding issues with consumer MP (the pink stuff) topped with UPP v2.0. Nothing major, just had to *really* let it set up and buff buff buff.

No problems at all using Pro MP (the stuff in the 1 liter can, less wax, slightly more abrasives) and the current version of UPP.

Haven't tried the exact combo of pink MP and current UPP but I'd expect it to work fine. Same ol' same ol' - try a small area and make sure it works. If it doesn't, it'll be like the UPP is just smearing around on top of the MP instead of setting up properly.

Can't really say about the durability as I only use UPP on the pampered S8 and I reapply when the slickness starts to drop off (yeah, I know, I probably oughta use the UGE instead..). Sure doesn't seem bad though. It's not like you just wash off the UPP or anything (even with that combo that had minor issues).

If you have AIO, then why not just go with AIO and UPP? Is there any particular reason why you want to use 1Z MP?

I did use AIO last fall and I liked it but now I'm noticing some really slight marring that I thought MP might take care of. Plus I just wanted to give it a shot and see how it looks.
