Being that I have one and it's a 10" terror, I'll keep using it for it's sheer area, as a wax/polish removal tool.
I'll probably get some terry bonnets for the 7424 and see how that goes, but I have a ton of bonnets for the ol' 10 incher, so I might as well keep using it- that is all it's good for.
It's not professional by any means, but it is a big saver of precious elbow grease.
I have one and occasionally use it for wax removal only. Usually after a long 3 or 4 step detail when Like you said, "to save some elbow grease". I do try and choose high quality terry bonnets to use though.
