Ive been doing pro detailing for a few months now i have a decent line up of products i spend about 8-10 hours for a full detail ive never had one complaint i do no advertising yet have no problem keeping busy

yet when it comes time to do my car i end up with swirls or scratches or somehting goes wrong

i guess not a real problem jsut came here for suport and to rant

but my car is black and has been repainted has crappy clear coat that is imposible to get swirls out with out scratching

ive tried every thing orm dacp to fine cut cleaner i follow up with #9 or 3mmachine glaze on a black bad or by hand never fails the hood and trunk lid you can see very were i went with teh product :angry

i alwasy get complments on my car to yet i hate the way it looks time to repaint i guess :xyxthumbs

well, i guess it could be one of a couple reasons,

1) u are paranoid about doing other peoples cars, and in turn end up puttin 150% into it.

2) you are an autopian, who no matter how hard he works, is never satisfied ;)

3) u just too hard on yourself...if you always getting compliments, its a sign that you doin somethin right..

here is a pic

the blury reflection is form the dust on my car i live on a gravel road so ive learned to wash my car every 2 days:o

the main thing that bothers me are the swrils on the hood and trunk seems like no matter what i do it swirls belive me ive tried every thing by hand rotary orbital dacp #9 #7 vm

but over all i guess the car looks good just not 100% like i think it needs to be

i supose i think ill be resrapying it in a couple of months with ppg triple black and a ton of clear coat make its smooth and perfect agin

I'm in the same boat... my 12 year old black Miata (45K miles) has a great shine (Klasse AIO, SGx2, Souveran x ?), but the paint is kinda pitted, sorta scratched (no swirls!), and just not up to my standards.

Frankly, I've been reluctant to really go at it... I guess I'm a little paranoid, since I don't know about the 1st 11 years of the car's paint. Plus, I'm too busy to take the time - I need to book an appointment...

LOL... and when you have time off the last thing you want to do is go detail your own vehicle.
i make it a point to to at least clean mine once a week since the way my vehicle looks is pretty important concidering im cleaning cars for a living who would you chose to do yours the guy with the clean car or the guy with the dirty car

I know how you feel. The clearcoat on the roof of my car is going and some spots have turned white already. Not much I can do, the car it really too old to fix the hail dents and repaint it. I'd end up putting $3500 into a car worth $2500.

Well, I keep mine clean 'cause it sits by the shop. Most folks think it is pretty sweet, but I know better!

I really should slow down.
