Greg, thats good of you to do it at such short notice in those temps.

I agree with todays fuel prices is rediculous.
I hope that you charged him well, if the owner can afford to feed that thing then he can afford a decent amount to get it washed.

Haha. Like the </rant>... It was hot as hell today. Glad you had some help. Don't understand why people need such big vehicles either and considering gas prices today! Whew! I removed everything on my car today, polished the metal under the hood with flitz, cleaned interior and many other things. HOT HOT HOT!

Well my usual wash regimen (upkeep package) starts at 30 for cars so I got 50 for the hummer. I could have probably gotten more but he brings me cars on a monthly basis so I like to treat him well.

At least he's a regular. If he was some random guy calling for a quicky wash on a vehicle that big I'd be pissed. I don't see why anyone would want an H2, you figure you can get an H1 for the same price a couple of years old and you'll get the same mileage. Oh well, great job on the finish, looks nice. I see you didn't use an LSP, what did it have on it before?

i have always liked the hummers for their size and i like the looks of them. but i feel your pain now about working on them because the dealer i am at now has a hummer franchise so i work on them also. i still like them but they are a pain to wash because there is no easy surface to clean. tons of areas to wash in and around. but i would still buy one if money wasn't an issue.

tubafreak - The car didnt have any lsp on it. It was kind of a pain but the customer didnt want to pay the extra money for an lsp. It was to hot out to work so i didnt try to hard to convince him to get the lsp. I used S+G to finish because it always makes the car nice and slick and seems to give it a nice shine.

uhemm... Fake Hummer...The H1 is the one and only original.

The work you did looks great! Any closeups of the tires?

At least it wasn't black :)

I've cleaned 2 H2's. One black and other the color like on CSI Miami. The black H2 I clean every other week ($45). How long did it take you? First time it took me 90 minutes. I can get it done in 45 minutes if I wanted too but generally an hour now. Great job on the one you did. It needs a giant black front bumper rack (whatever they are called) to make cleaning the front a pain in the .........

Sean - only if you zoom. I wasnt feeling very well at the end of the detail because of the heat but they were a PITA to dress.

PhaRO- Pappy and I spent 2 hours on it. The interior was just trashed. I did a pretty nice interior about a month ago (no shampoo) but a very good vaccum and it was just trashed again so thats why it took so long. If the interior was normal we could have done it in about 90 minutes at the most.

bump!

check out the new h3's.

they're definately not worth the HUMMER name

It looks like somekind of JEEP ripoff. I was really suprised on the lack of quality parts on the hummer. The front bumper is flimsy plastic as wheel as the rear too. The front has the plastic metal grill. I would think for the money you spend on a hummer it would be more beffy.

Dads are the best people on Earth. Wouldn't you agree? Kinda off topic, but I think your Dad and all Dads deserve kudos.

Great work Greg! I wonder sometimes too with the price of fuel why people have them. Oh well to each his own.

CARTfan - Pappy is another detailer in Greg's area. He does a lot of work on boats and is very knowledgeable.

Paul

CARTfan: Yes Dads are wonderful people!! The Pappy I am refereing to is my best friend. He lives about 3 houses away. Like Ben Kenobi Said Pappy Does boats but it was just to hot for that so he was free.. Thank GOD!!

h3's.

they're definately not worth the HUMMER name ? WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT ?

before the h2 and now the h3 "HUMMER" was a name held for a rugged military vehicle. capable of all kinds of abuse.when u would hear the "HUMMER" name u'd think the car was indestructable.

u certainly can't say the same for the h2's and now the h3's.

"same 3.5-liter inline five-cylinder engine from the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon that has underwhelmed critics who complain that the motor delivers sluggish response off the line."--

and spitting only 220hp with that much weight. not meant to be racer i know but definately can get much more with other brands in mind with the same capabilities and more.
