Why did USER NAME get banned?

He got into a name-calling match with another member. If you search on his posts you can see the thread. There may have been some posts deleted (by the posters) so it may not be a clear record of what happened.
 
I've never ignored anyone...how could you tell if he was banned if you were ignoring him? I presumed if you ignore them their posts don't show up at all...how does that work?

I didn't know you could block members post's like that, I would think that reading threads would be weird. A few members here use the ghost feature or what ever it's called where you always appear offline.
 
Ehh that's a shame I actually liked him. It's always good to have a member or two just to rub people the wrong way. Makes things interesting. But ruffling people's fetahers and being downright degrading are 2 different things. He obviously crossed the line.

I think he had a few bad days here. Should be less pot stirring now. His comments calling another member "gay" in a juvenile way reminded me of the emotionally disturbed children that I work with.

I must have missed that one...oh, you mean in that thread? I wasn't following that thread, I only looked into it when I saw he was banned. Seemed he was having some personal problems that gave him more time to post and more reason to be argumentative. Been there, done that. Weird world this is with internet forums, as has been said before, you do things differently than you might in person.

He *really* went over-the-top in that vein in a PM, and it wasn't just some passing remark or two. Seems there are a whole lotta demographics that he has issues with.



The demonstrated, uhm...level of self-control seemed interesting, given that he's an attorney. Oh that all one's legal opponents could be like that! He might oughta work on that lest people find him easy to manipulate.

On this subject, I ran across the term (think I remember this right) Geographically Influenced Outcome. Some people put a lot of stock in the supposed annonymity (and hence safety) provided by the ol' internet. Can be another version of in vino veritas where one's true colors are revealed.
 
I spoke through PM with the guy a few times and have nothing against him... he basically got banned for saying something in private to someone, which that someone made public? I think it's bs and while user name wasn't someone like Todd, Scotwax, etc. maybe a mod can chime in with the reason for his banning...



I have no reason to say anything nearly as bad but now I'm wondering if there are certain rules about private messaging I wasn't aware of..?
 
If it was a comment made in PM and then someone (the reciepent I suspect) made that Public for all to see then it's the recipent that made it public that should be banned. How friggin hard is it for anyone to understand that. If I take something private it's just that. It's not my fault if some moron thinks it'll suit their cause to bring it public and let the rest of the board harass them. If that's truely the case then User name shouldn't be banned it's who ever brought hi PM forward that needs banned.

It seems that the recipient, Bence, has a good-standing record on the forums and doesn't go against the grain as they say, so it's doubtful he would be banned for something like that, but I still don't see why user name was banned...



Again, I don't know these guys personally except user is from my birth country so we exchanged a few PMs (which I kept private :nana:) but I really want to know why he was banned for something said in a PM, brought out to public view by the recipient...
 
I thought he was a clown, and am glad he is banned. Back last summer in a thread I told him that he brings to much drama to the forum, or something like that, and he sends me a PM calling me a "little girl". :confused:
