I honestly couldnt wait for the new 6-series to come out. I really like the size and overall package that the 6-series delivers. When I saw the new design I was honestly impressed until I realized that it has another cloth convertible top. Even the 3-series has a retractable hard top. Why would they do this! I am still considering getting it, but I have never had a cloth top. How do you even clean it???

They need to come out with a retractable hard top...

Raggtopp is a German company and they make a kit for cloth tops and a different kit for vinyl tops.

Name a really high end convertible car and they already recommend the Raggtopp kit for their convertibles so you'll be secure in your choice of product.

The kit contains a cleaner and a separate sealer. Instructions are included and the process is very straight forward.

Get the car, they're gorgeous, and get the kit.

I doubt that they will come out with a retractable top - the reason is weight and space. The 3 series convertible is I think already close to 4,000 lbs. Nothing wrong with a cloth top - as long as you have a real rear window.

And I totally agree.. get the car and it awesome. Of course if you want to spend that much money and get a BMW, you can always look at the M3 convertible.

WOW they really did ruin that car. The older 6's was so much better looking. I like the new interior but looks like a blind man designed the exterior. UHHHH

I agree that Raggtopp is the way to go. I have used the cleaner and protectant for years, and will continue to use it on cloth top convertible's.

Do you live on that site stroker? All you do is make posts linking to it. I guess you are trying to promote it or something?

Actually, simple vacuuming of the cloth top is the best preventative maintenance. I have been maintaining a few six series BMW for several years and the tops look like new.

WOLFSTEINS is the company behind Raggtopp products that are endorsed by The Haartz Corporation , the world's leading (OEM) manufacturer of engineered coated fabrics for almost every American and European convertible automobile manufactured throughout the world. The so call German Fabric ( German Cloth ) has been made for many years and the product from Raggtopp to use on it will be the Fabric Kit that Raggtopp ( Wolfsteins ) make for it.

Cleaning it is simple, for the most part I recommend that it is not touched / washed unless needed. When washing the car you can rinse it off with clean water and no detergents, let it dry fully before folding.

When it needs washed use a recommended shampoo ie: Raggtopp and a horsehair brush and lightly scrub, rinse and let dry.

The best thing to do as soon as you can is get the Raggtopp kit as others posted, follow the steps for cleaning and protection and you are set. As time passes just watch to make sure that water stills beads on the top, when it starts losing the beading then apply the Raggtopp products.
