Did my dad's boss' STS today. I have his wife's CTS tomorrrow, and a 30 dollar tip.

Anyways, I tried out a new topper, and am VERY impressed. Went on smooth, and off even easier. I'm going to get you guys to guess as to what it is.

As far as the car goes, the paint was the hardest job to date. Swirls wouldn't come out for the life of me. 6:30 am - 1pm, and I finally had them out. :banned: I hate my PC. :( I melted a backing plate somehow, along with a new pad. :furious: Ugh, I guess its time for me to get some proper pads for me rotary.

Processes:

Exterior:

Wash

Clay

SSR2.5 on rotary and stock pad (shudders)

SSR2.5 on PC and cutting pad

SSR2 on polishing pad

Topped with (you have to guess that)

Rims were polished

Tires got some NoTouch

Trim, PB TR

Interior:

Lots of scrubbing man hours

Trim dressed with Natural Shine

Engine bay:

Scrubbed with toothbrush and degreaser

Topped with "No Stick Dressing" Supposed to keep dust off?

Befores:

Is it a wax or a selant? or both? If it's a selant my guess is EX if it's a wax then Nattys. Are those rock chips on the front bumper? Nice job btw

Its was actually Souvuran. Thought someone would say that. Oh well.

The SSR1 wouldn't take anything out. The paint didn't want to let any more swirls go. Yes those are stone chips. :(

Thanks for the compliement.

I bet if you used SSR1 it would have completely taken out these fine marks.

Why do it if the owner won't notice and won't keep it that way for more than a day? Stray marrs here and there are common. Guarantee you could find a couple here and there on any pro detailed vehicle.

Nice work Steve. That thing was pretty bad.

Thanks man. After further inspection, there were still some minor swirls, but the owner was very pleased and didn't expect them to be completly gone. BTW, this is a 1998 STS.

You did a great job, Steve.

Do you mind sharing how much you charge for something like this? (I'm just a newbie who does his own car and has no aspirations of making this a career. I'm more curious what I would have to pay someone to fix a car in that shape.)

I was thinking it was going to be souveran but I also thought you were trying to trick us out with another look alike that is similar to souveran.

 Souveran....

Really good job on the swirls and the interior. Good thing Cadillac has some quality carpeting so they tend to be reasonably easy to clean, eh?
