I don't know if many of you follow technology news or not. I tend to be a little bit of a Tech geek .. (What can I say ... I like my gadgets! )

Well for those of you who don't know google has been at it again and there is a few projects that google has been up to for quite sometime but im not sure that many people are aware of.

1. http://catalog.google.com lets you view virtully every printed catalog .. (and its up to date) They scan every page of a catalog. pretty impressive!

2. http://print.google.com Who needs to go to the library any more looking for a book and you know a few words or the author heck or even a topic! You don't get the full book ... but at least this way you can get an idea as to what you are looking for!

3. Has not been released just yet but there is a lot of banter that google will be releasing an alternitave to PayPal (Suposedly called Google Wallet) however the name is only speculation! The reason google is going into this is becuase they are trying to diversify as to where they are making their profits. However this is good for Us consumers AS well as People who have Pay Pal Stores or even ebayers! We no longer have to put up with the stunts that Paypal pulls!

4. Last speculation ... Google is suposedly releasing a Classifides service like Ebay! Something tells me this is either going to destory ebay! or its going to be a complete bomb... Either which way .. it will be intersting to see what happens!

Just tryin to keep everyone up to date on the google news!

I read about #3. Supposedly, from what I can gather, they say that they are not so much trying to compete with PayPal as they are trying to offer another convenient way for customers to shop. Now, whatever that means......

Google will be to the internet as Wal-Mart is to retail. Haha!!

As far as destroying Ebay by offering a classified - I think it would depend on how it's set up. Other "big name" players have opened auction sites (albeit probably without the same financial resources as Google) with little to no effect on Ebay. I think it would take an awful lot to dethrone Ebay as it stands for quite some time. But then again, that is personal opinion.

Good post Focused!!
