Who makes a good brush for wheel lug nuts?

Griot's offers a set of 3 small BHBs including one that's much like the Zymol brush. It works great on my lugnuts. Rinses clean and doesn't mar the wheels at all. Also good for around the valve stem on wheels where the stem isn't mounted flush on the rim. Great in doorjambs too. The set is p/n 15520, $29.95 and well worth it.

I looked at these:

They look pretty nice, but is it safe to use them on wet wheels as "scrubbers" or are they for dry wheels only?

Regards,

Dan.

try a 1 inch foam paint brush. they cost about .79 cents at home depot which makes them cheap to replace. great bargin and they work well.

Other way around- they are for *WET* wheels only. Used dry, the hair would mar. But when it's wet (and lubed with soap), it's very gentle. Maybe even *too* gentle if you let your wheels get really grungy, but they work great for me. If you only let them get as dirty as I'd expect, they'll do fine.

I also use them for nooks and crannies (inside fuel filler cavities, door jambs, etc.) and I honestly don't know how I'd get by without them. A great thing for $30; I've been using and recommending them for ages and I don't think anybody has regretted getting a set.

FWIW, the BHBs Griot's has that're designed for wheels work great too. I use the short handle one for wheels and the longer handle one for my undercarriages.

Accumulator,

Thanks for the info!

It turns out that Griots is located down in Tacoma, Washington (actually in Fife) which is about 25 minutes south of here. And, they have a retail store there. And, they are open from 10-2 on Saturdays! And, they have the three pack of brushes in stock!!!

Their retail address is:

3500-A 20th St E

Tacoma Wa 98424

This Saturday, I'm driving down to buy them. Since I'm in Washington, I have to pay tax anyway and this will save on shipping. Of course, this will be dangerous. (Kid in the candy store syndrome!)

Thanks again,

Dan.
