Who knows about Zymol?

I was told by them that you can not use ONR to wash your car as it will strip the wax. Does anyone else have experience with Zymol? Do they just want me to buy their wash? I was also told that you can not apply Zymol over a sealant. Has anyone tried this? Also is Zymol HD cleanse absolutely necessary? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If ONR strips their product, then that isn't saying much about Zymol's quality. Looks like they gave you bad information to pump up their own products. They are known for their marketing puffery. For that reason alone I wouldn't waste my money with them.

....if they claim ONR will strip their LSP's, that doesn't say much about the durability of their products.

Note that there are a few well-respected members here who are *BIG* fans of certain high-end Zymol offerings (i.e., ther "Estate Glazes" such as Vintage).

No, HDC isn't absolutely mandatory; you could use some other paint cleaner/glaze/etc. product in its place. The Zymol stuff is just wax. Maybe it's a special way (opinions differ) but there shouldn't be any reason why you'd have to use a certain wash or a certain precleaner or why you couldn't try using it as a topper. AFAIK the big thing to watch for is that with their higher-end Estate Glazes you need to do multiple wipe-downs because of how the oils/etc. tend to "bloom" while the wax is setting up.

I like Zymol Vintage. Durabilty isn't the greatest for sure, but man it looks awesome on red. The problem is now adays there are so many products that look just as great. Something about playing with a high end wax makes the clients feel better!

All I know is the bottle I used a long time ago smelled better than anything I'd ever used...

Was this the cleaner wax at the store, or one of their estate glazes?

Their cleaner wax, while not a particularly popular option here, does smell like something you could eat :)

Take this as a sign that its time to find another wax. I used to use Zymol and at the time thought it was great, but there are so many better products that offer more value and are much easier to use. ONR+OCW is an amazing combo with jaw dropping looks.
