white terry pads for applying SG

Currently I use green MF pads for applying my SG. What about white terry pads? Are they better to use or just a matter of preference? What do you use to apply your SG?

I'm with Jesstzn.

BUT, I complete wet the MF with water and wring it out quite a bit - so it feels damp to touch, fold in half then in thirds, then using about a quarter sized dribble of SG, wipe that over half the hood. As soon as it is applied I use a clean dry MF to wipe it off. Another quarter sized dribble to do the other side of the hood. As I feel the wet applicator towel "loading" with product, I cut the quarter dribble down to a dime size. You will also find that the side you have been putting the SG on will eventually start to feel "sticky". When that happens, just refold the MF as above, but exposing a new clean damp surface, and go back to quarter sized dribbles. I can do my entire Lightning that way with only 2 refolds. I also go through 3-4 clean MF's during the wipedown. You may find the occasional streak afterwards under high intensity light. I use SONUS Acrylic Spritz QD (on sale here I saw earlier this week) to easily eliminate those.

You should search out Bill North's application advise (search using "billnorth") - I seem to remember something about wiping off damp, but I don't remember exactly, maybe he de-streaks with a water dampened MF.

I use terry apps, start out dry (not damp) and have no problems. I do prefer to let it sit and [hopefully] bond for about an hour, then remove with an damp MF and buff with a dry MF.
