White Nissan Maxima/ssr3/orange pad!

Just about started raining when I buffed EX+P off and the owner had to go somewhere so I'll do the interior next week (she is my next door neighbor).

nxt wash
rock hard clay - 2 hours of it the paint had so much s$$t on it.
(it was freezing this morning but 2 sweat pants and 4 sweaters helped)
ssr3 with my new orange pads from TOL on 6 (the polishing pad just didn't cut it)
ssr1 with white pad on 6
ex+p by hand
couldn't apply natty's due to the rain drops :(
This Maxima was full of swirls - worse horizontally but ssr3 with the orange pad got rid of all the swirls in one pass. I am not sure how hard nissan paint is and aware that white paint is hardest in general but I couldn't believe how effective this combo was! Saved me lots of time. I can't wait to use them on other cars now. Anyways, herte are some very cloudy photos.

nice job..I really like it when people show the same angle before and after shots to see how the words match the work:bigups

thanks steve - the originals are crystal clear and you'd see more swirls in the before pix.

I try to take pictures from the same angles but sometimes I can't recall the befores due to taking too many of them :D

The car really looked beautiful and very wet. The paint actually has pearls in it.

Maybe I should post the original sizes. :D

Great job. Just curious, did the SSR3 & orange pad dictacte the need for swirl a remover or could you have been less aggressive?

I just got home from a detail and saw that I have to redo the horizontal areas. So I am sorry if I misled anyone about going from ssr3 to ssr1.

I did take some pictures before leaving though. It was sunny

Great looking before and after pics .:bigups. Claying white can be a real chore , give the Red Clay Magic bar a try ,it has better pickup on white .

thanks rollman - I will get a red bar. where do you get it from? Direct?
the mothers bar actually worked well, the car just had too much contemination.

I pick it up from the Auto Magic truck while he's visiting some of the body shops and car washes in my area .

thanks! ssr3 with the white LC pad didn't do a very good job - you could see a big difference but switching to the orange pad it made removing these swirls easy.

Vast improvement. Your pictures effectively show the difference between the various steps of detail. What is your plan of attack for the re-polish? I look forward to seeing the interior pictures.

thanks Eric!

I will remove the remaining swirls with ssr3 (middle of the hood about an 8x6 area), ssr2 or PwC and exp. The interior looks good at first glance but inspecting it closer shows lots of spilling. She is busy tomorrow, but wednesday maybe a go.
