Which wax best for dark grey metallic ?

That looks awesome Scott! On a side note, isn't it about time for a C&B thread? I always look forward to seeing your work!

I have a ton of stuff resized, just never seem to have time to upload and type out a thread. I have a quick break right now, but in 30 minutes, I have a Passat to detail. Maybe Friday or Saturday, supposed to rain all day both days.

blackboxst-Carnauba Moose is my go to wax on black paint.

Bunky-I've never noticed carnaubas muting metallics. They do tend to darken the paint a bit more than sealants but I still never have any problem seeing the flakes.

Scott,

any reason why you put opti seal first before the carnuaba wax ?

I was thinking the other way round first ?

and I assume you let the opti-seal cure for a lil while first before putting on the wax ?

how long would that be ?

my car's in a reasonably dusty apartment carpark, so anytime for it to cure , means dust andpossibly dirt particles accumulating on it. and to get rid of it, i'll probably need another extra step of onr again before applying the last step (either optiseal or the carnuaba)

I put Opti-Seal on my car about two weeks earlier. I put on CMW to see how it would look and was pretty happy with it. Since then, I've washed my car twice and put on Opti-Seal on it after the first wash and the new version of Optimum Car Wax on it after the second.

I did, AND I spoke with the specific team at the airline to double check what it meant. It may be overstated but tell that to the airline.....

I don't mean that solvent/petroleum danger on airlines is overstated. And I'm not suggesting ignoring airline safety. Give me a bit more credit. ;)

What I am saying is the potential danger of these products is over-stated.

FWIW, as a little test I placed a burning match on a blob on CK Moose Wax I just received today (via air). Nothing happened. It was actually putting the match out! I had to pull the match away for it to re-ignite. :nixweiss

Here's a few of my Slate Grey 997TT. PS over RMG although any of the waxes you mentioned would be great with a proper prep.
