Which wash mitts release dirt best?

Do you all use the grout sponges on daily drivers that see the elements, or cars that sit in the garage 6 days a week? Do you all rise the sponge out after each swipe, or does it get contaminated that quick.

I have a Sheepskin Mitt and a Microfiber Chenille mitt. I like the Chenille one a lot better than the sheepskin. It holds a lot more suds and water and is easier to use IMO.

Any and everything.

Sheepskin mitts or Grout Sponge

and it will only cost you $7 to get them both and see which one YOU like the best

Honestly, I think the same also. I used to use the dreadlock style microfiber mitt and I'm more than likely be going back to it. It would defiantly have tons of water on it.

Is this mitt similar to the one you use?

Next time I'm at lowes or home depot, I'll try out one of the grout sponges too.

i use both sheepskin mitts, and grout sponges as well. the advantage(s) that the GS has over the sheepskin mitt is, it releases dirt more easily, and seems to clean the finish more thoroughly and cost half the price...

"I only use grout sponges " me too! I've got about a dozen other things - but, if I wasn't a pack rat - they would be tossed.

Speaking of sheepskin mits, how do you guys wash them once they become a little dingy? I was thinking of washing it in the sing, under running water with some Dawn. Any suggestions?

IME the *best* wash media with regard to dirt releasing/rinsing clean is a BHB, nothing else even comes close for me.

Among mitts (I use chenille, MF, and sheepskin), the sheepskin generally releases the best. MFs and chenille both retain certain types of dirt; if I had to choose between the two I'd go with MF (but I'm still very careful when I use it).

IME sea sponges rinse quite clean and will even rival the BHBs except when dealing with greasy/sticky dirt. In my *very* limited experience with grout sponges, they rinse clean pretty well, but not as thoroughly/immediately as BHBs when dealing with stuff like brake dust and undercarringe grime (including grease).

I could have an *army* of grout sponges for the price of one BHB.:D

If people pre-rinsed their vehicle better, you won't have large specs of dirt that get trapped in your wash tool to worry about. I've found that something without pores, like a ShMITT rinses/releases dirt the best? You can go from playing with it in the sand, to wash duty with just a quick rinse off. Try that with any other wash tool! Just because it releases dirt the best, doesn't make it the best though.

Spoiled I think Ive hit every Home depot in florida looking for the loose bin grout sponges, still in over a year, no luck!
