Try a technique called flooding the car what you do is take the sprayer off the hose and run water that way and it will help take some of the water off the car a another option is I get my waffle towels from auto zone the blue ones they are 9.99 and they leave no swirls they are great auto geek has a video on flooding if you want to check it out it is under the how to and go to car washing and watch the video

This is a great technique. Followed by a leaf blower, it takes much less time to dry than a WW.

nice find how do these stand up to others? Like the one im using now. I dont want to marr or scratch paint. Theres only some reviews on it but others never heard it them. I tried autopia as coupon code and didnt work.

Considering Excel detail is listed as a distributor on towelpros.com (wcdetail sister site).. I'd be curious about Patrick's towels not being one in the same.

I tried this a few weeks back with my buddy's GLI. All I seemed to get was water scattering about. :( I was excited to try it.. we were using his 4 cycle gas blower.. plenty of power.

We ended up mopping up the mess with WW towels.

blownvert, to answer your question about how the winner's circle towels compare, they are marginally less plush than the cobra guzzlers (and lack the satin edging) but they certainly will pass the cd test. As to how they stand up to repeated use, that remains to be seen--I haven't had them that long. My hunch is that the slightly thicker cobras will last a little longer. I was a little skeptical when I ordered them, and when they arrived I wasn't completely blown away but I certainly wasn't disappointed.

i don't ever consider a leaf blower to be a complete drying method. i mainly use it to blow out water from cracks, seams, windshield wipers, ac vents, wheels/tires, front/back headlights, etc. if you flood the car with the sheeting method, there will be a considerable less amount of water to dry off and one waffle weave is good enough for me to gently dry the car off...

Indeed. We did sheet, it just seemed to blow everything else around on the panels.. versus off the panels.

I use the flooding method all the time. It sheets most the water off, and I basically only use half my drying towel to dry. Works wonders. I'm using a cg ww drying towel right now, I'm going to try some pakshak and a few other brands in the feature.

Ya know, I remember when I first came around here two years ago, somebody discovered Main Stays waffle weave MF towels at Walmart. Now these are intended for kitchen use and aren't the pillow plush MF drying towels some sell, but they're 2 towels for about $3 and they are just great for so many things. I have a stack and they've done a whole bunch of ONR wipes.

If you haven't already, you need some of these if only for interior or glass or wheels/tires.

The quality is good and the price is right!

if looking for MF towels for interior, glass or wheels/tires then i would suggest just get a big bulk pack at costco or BJ's. I think they come in pack of 25 for $13 or so, but wouldnt suggest to use on paint.
