Which topper for EGP?

I will be "winterizing" my maxima within a few days and I need a topper for EGP. I plan on buying it at Pep Boys, since Im getting a clay bar kit tomorrow. I was thinking about #26, but I read somewhere not to use #16 since it contains polymers...:confused: Also, I was wondering does anyone know how long I need to leave EGP on before I buff it off?



Any help is appreciated. I know yall won't let me down :D

I've done WOWO, whole car then buff, and waiting about 30 minutes with EGP. Had no problem removing it with any of the methods.



Currently untopped as I like the look of EGP by itself. I've been tempted to top w/ Liquid Souveran, S100, or trying to track down Collinite Insulator wax.
 
You dont need a topper, this winter I am with Perry - no wax for me but the choice is yours. In the past I have used Blitz, P21S etc

I don't know about #16, but #26 is a wax-polymer blend, but that shouldn't matter when deciding what to top with. Either one is a fine choice.



The old instructions I think called for EGP to dry for 3 - 4 hours, but it has been revised to 1 hour so people wouldn't complain as much. I'm guessing that it means the longer you wait the better, with 1 hour being the minimum.

A very thin layer of application, I think, helps the time before buffing but the longer the better, especially at this time of year.
 
Ben, if you're speaking of Autoglym EGP, then EGP *is* the topper after SRP. EGP is a *very* tough coating - I would think you've winterized your car already.



It's recommended to let cure for several hours before removing.



Why don't you put a second layer of EGP on it? I believe it is layerable if the first layer is given several days curing time.

Yea, I'm runnin around w/ 3 layers right now. Coat 1 -> wait a week -> coat 2 -> 2 weeks -> coat 3. That's just when I had time / weather to do em.



Was just down at the quarter wash to spray off the crud, then back home to S&W the rest off followed by Meg's Final Detail. Looks great w/ no topper! Such nice weather, I really wanted to add some S100, but I resisted...
