Which Sonus pad for Megs #80?

Hello, everyone.

I'm new to using a PC and concerned about messing up my first real project with it. My wife's car has some pretty bad spider webbing that needs to be removed and I don't want to hurt her baby. I bought a PC 7366SP and the Sonus kit from Autopia. I'm planning on using Megs #80 first and step up to #83, if necessary. I'll follow with #26 as my topper.

Should I start #80 with the orange pad, or start it on a green pad first and move to the orange, if needed? I was thinking of gradually increasing aggressiveness by doing something like this:

#80 + green

#80 + orange

#83 + green

#83 + orange

Is this being overly cautious? Please advise.

Bad "spiderwebbing" should be remedied with 80 and a green pad. Take your time and work panels with adequate time. 80 is rich in oils which allows sufficient time for breakdown of abrasives, dont just make a pass or two and think your done.

So no need for #83 at all? Just more passes with #80 + green? I have to admit I'm nervous about #83 as a rookie with a PC.
