which sealant would you use if you planned on topping with carnauba?

If you were going to choose between Z2, Klasse AIO/SG, or FK 2180 which would you choose if you planned on topping with a carnauba (OCW, Souveran, or P21S)? I use and like Zaino Z2 (still haven't finished yet for Z2 Pro) but also have OCW, P21S, and Souveran and would like to top whichever sealant I apply. Durability is also important since with two small children I don't have too much time to spend on the cars. I've topped Z2 in the past with P21S and OCW with good results but wonder of there's a more "topper friendly" sealant I should be seeking. I welcome any and all opinions- other sealant recommendations are also welcome.
 
I use the exact combinations you mention. It doesn't get any easier than the topper products you have. Durability? To me all three are about the same. P21 being a little more durable than Souveran.OCW a bit easier to use,but weaker result when compared to the other two.Pink wax on top of 2180 is also durable.
 
From the experience I have had so far, if I were going to faithfully use a carnauba topper over a sealant, I would just use the Klasse AIO for my sealant. This assuming you will be faithful with the carnauba and that durability is not as much of a consideration as looks.



I have recently ordered some FK1 products and my opinion may change after trying them but I have previously topped Zaino, Klasse and PoorBoy's EX-P with carnauba and ultimately preferred the look of the carnauba over AIO alone. The AIO,SG, Carnauba combination was very, very similar but I found that looks wise, I didn't need the SG.

What kind of car and what color car are we working with?



Sometimes the shape of a car can make a difference as far as a look is considered...
 
Thanks for the feedback. I have a black Infiniti G35 sedan. AIO + carnauba would look awesome but durability IS an issue for me. Topping with OCW is simple and quick but I'm not sure Z2 is the best sealant to have underneath it (could be muting the famous Z2 shine and impacting durability). I want depth, durability, and wetness if possibility. Too big of a wish list? Since I already own the carnaubas (OCW, P21S, and Souveran), I want a topper friendly sealant that will give at least 5-6 months protection. I'm thinking maybe I should just trade for Z8 if I want to stay with Zaino as I haven't tried that yet.
 
I've used the fk 2180 with the pink wax and the fx-100 and I love it. I did this process about 6 weeks ago and it still looks great and feels slick. I have a 1996 black toyota corolla and it looks better than new. I recently visited a local autozone and while coming out of the store I noticed a guy looking at my car closely, his comment was "Nice paint job". I've used poorboys and loved it but I really like fk. I don't know about the polish but the pink wax, 2180, fx-100, top coat, 121, 118 and 425 are very good products. Good luck and I think no matter which of those products you choose you'll be very happy.

Z2 w/ Z8 on top will not look bad at all. Plus you will get great durability.



I have topped Z2pro with NB and I thought it was a little wetter. Then I did Sov on the hood a week or two later. Very nice as well. The carnubas have a great look but sov is not going to last. I think I got about 2 months of the NB over Z2pro. Then the carbuba effect was gone.



So if you time is limited go with Z2 with Z8.

If you want 5-6 months pf protectin go with Zaino. I've topped EX w/carnauba and Zaino on black G35s and Zaino lasted a little longer. Which looked better? I have no idea - they both looked amazing topped with Nattys Blue and maintained with OCW.

Actually you have answered your own question. Z8 maintenence and topping after Z2 or Z2PRO will give you easily 6 months protection, wet and deep appearance and the famous Zaino gloss.

Just wash vehicle and spray on Z8 spray sealant and you are "good to go". :cooleek:

My only suggestion is to get some Z2PRO or wait for the new Z5PRO (great on black and red)

to combo with Z8. :bow
