Which QD to buy

I have no experience with them, and here is a list of a few I'm looking at...

ClearKote Quik Shine

Pinnacle Crystal Mist Quick Detailer

Poorboy's QW

Wolfgang Instant Detail Spritz .

Do they cover well over Natty's wax???

Depends on what you want your QD to do.

I like mine to have some cleaning ability and leave a nice shine.

Poorboy's QW and Pinn. CM can be removed from your list unless you ONLY intend to use them after a wash.

I really like FK425 and Poorboy's Spray and Wipe. PB SW is very very nice and is ultra slick. I like it for its cleaning ability.

Both of these work great over Natty's. Pinn. CM works nicely over Natty's after a fresh wash; give it a nice "freshened" glow; but for the price there are better alternatives.

I would say the following:

For an after wash QD only: QuickShine

For dust removal: FK425

For an after a day of driving cleanup: S&W

What I choose over ANY of them: Hands down AquaWax. Or their DG Clean and shine (#426??) is great also.

To be clear: Aquawax is NOT a qd. It is a nice way to shoot some protection after a wash. It is also really easy to use.

If the QD has a cleaning ability, does it make for a nicer shine??

I know its not on the list, but I only use Zaino Z8. Expensive, but adds gloss and depth more than any QD I've worked with in the past.

I vote for Z8 also...but I'd be willing to try something difference if there's something better. I use my QD for everything...after wash, after driving, and a rain, etc.

I think Z6 is more of a QD for them, and did not care for it much. Z8 I love, but is not really a QD. I would say for cleaning, I like Megs #34. For spray sealant, there are so many. HGAS, Z8, AG, etc...

Quik Shine is an excellent QD. It does everything well and is very user friendly. A few others may have more gloss, but some can be more finicky to use and/or not intended for light cleaning.

IMO, you can't go wrong with Quik Shine.

Also... to tell you the truth, Mother's Showtime is an excellent OTC QD. It does everything well, too. I'd prefer QS if I had my choice, but for OTC...

Exactly :xyxthumbs

I wouldn't want to be without my FK425, Meg's #34, *or* my Griot's SpeedShine, but I use 'em for different applications.

The QuikShine (wonder if I got that "inventive" spelling right..) isn't bad either, as it works OK over most any LSP. But I don't seem to reach for it all that often.

Not necessarily. You want something that can remove the dirt safely, without scratching.

PB S&W does leave an excellent shine and doesn't need to be followed by anything. If you want an product that you can safely use all the time, this is it.

To me the whole point of a QD is to add shine and remove *light* dust/dirt safely. This does that with no problem; even if the dust/dirt is a little on the heavy side.

FK425 doesn't have as much cleaning ability but shines a *little* nicer if the surface is cleaner to start with. Its also great to follow after a fresh waxing or even to remove dried wax.

This is really one of those things that you'll ask 20 people and get just as many suggestions/responses.

You can't go bad wrong with any of them mentioned in this thread, we're very opinionated around here.

Stay away from any OTC qd's as most of them aren't worth the money.
