Which Propel 4" Turbo Pads to Order

I currently have the 7" Propel polish (blue), light cut (green), and medium cut (yellow) pads. I want to get some smaller 4" pads for spot jobs. I'm definitely looking at a couple light cut (green) ones, but I'm a bit unsure about the others to get. I definitely want to get a more aggressive one than the light cut in case it's needed. Any suggestions from those who've used these pads?



Also, any comments about the 7" medium cut (yellow) versus the aggressive cut (orange) Propel pad? I've found that the yellow doesn't hold the polish too well and I wonder if it's the same with the orange or if it's more a situation of operator error. :)

The orange is even denser than the yellow, so your polish-holding problem isn't going to get any better with the orange.



I have 4 blue Turbos, 2 green turbos, 2 gray LC 4" pads, and 2 orange LC 4" pads. I use them all from time to time. The orange pads come in handy for defect removal with the PC. I've even polished my valve cover with the PC and a 4" LC orange. It worked well, but I still went back to doing that by hand.



I'd get at least one blue for light polishes and LSP application. At least one green and yellow would also be good to have IMO. I use all of my 4" pads with my Wolfgang Polishin' Pal as well, so they get used a lot.

Thanks Paul ... I just might go with the 4" backing plate/pad combo and get one of each pad.



Where does the 7" aggressive cut (orange) pad fit into your routine? Do you find the medium cut (yellow) pad sufficient for most jobs or do you reach more often for the orange?
 
I don't use the orange much. I don't usually have to work with really bad swirls. When I do, I usually pick up the yellow pad and SSR2.5. I haven't used my orange pads with anything but SSR3 so far IIRC. Rarely do I work on a vehicle that needs something stronger than SSR2.5/yellow followed by SSR2/green.
