hello, i only have access to a computer at work so i dont have much time to search thru forums and was wondering if i could get opinions... i was going to buy pc 7424 . if i buy it here i get " sonus pads " if i buy it on " properautocare.com" i get , i think, lake country pads with the pc kit, or is there somewhere else you guys recommend to buy the pc 7424 with a pad kit and flexplate, it looks like about 130.00 plus 50.00 for pad kit with flex plate is the norm..lakecountry says their pads are not flat so you wont get alot of splatter or squiggy lines ( radom , tightly twisted lines) and there pads go over inclines because they have rounded edges and with their pocket in the middle , it prevents product build up???? what do you guy think, or have used ? thanks....todd

You may want to consider buying a PC 7336 at Lowes for about $99. It's basically the same as a 7424 so you don't need to fret about the different model #'s:

The best buy for pads right now is at Excel detail. Start with the Pad/Plate kit for $29.99:

Then add something like two green pads (polishing), a yellow pad (med cut), and an orange (light cut/polishing) pad. All seven pads and backing plate will only run about $60, but youâ€â„¢ll have a nice range of pads to use and an extra one of the most used pads if you switch to a different product during a detail. Between the kit and the extra pads you'll have:

1- Yellow Medium Cutting pad

1- Orange (light cut/polish) pad

2- Green polish pads

2- Blue Light Polishing pads

1- Gray finishing pad

1- 5" Backing Plate

You can adjust the number of pads depending of the products you're going to use. BTW that is also a good place to buy some MF's while you're shopping. Good luck!

EDIT: Looks like Mike beat me to it..... he provided a good link to a thread that describes the propel pads in better detail.

BTW, the Sonus DAS and LC pads are fine choices also.
