Which pad/product combo do you suggest for the PC

What combo do you like best for corrections with the original PC?

Would you go with the Meg's 105/205 combo on some lake country pads?

Maybe some surburf pads?

HD UNO?

Obviously not one set is going to work in all situations, but I would like to discuss which is going to be the most effective, all-around, for the original PC

Yeah, with 4" pads. Or 3.5" PFW for the serious, initial correction.

Maybe some surburf pads?

Not unless/until you have some experience using the PC. I've been able to do very serious correction with the M105 and 4" orange and 3.5" PFW pads.

Can't help with that, haven't tried it.

I'd suggest M105/M205 with the 5.5" LC Flat pads in orange, white, black, and blue. Maybe pick up some 4" pads for working on tight areas and RIDS. That combo should handle the majority of the cars that come your way. :2thumbs:

I haven't used the UNO enough yet to give a solid opinion on it.

I have plans to purchase more pads, do I really need black ones?

Always nice to have a variety of pads so that you can adjust for each paint type. I like using the black to finish on harder CC paints.

I've got the LC 5.5's in Yellow, Orange, White, Grey and Blue right now, I need to go pick up some M105/205 and see how that polish reacts.

Have been using some Rightlook compound and polish thus far with 'decent' results, but I want to take things to the next level of correction.

You have a good selection of pads that will work well with the M105/205 combo.

I just received the 4" LC cyan and tangerine pads. I plan to use them with Megs UC and #80. I would consider this the poor man's 105/205. Am I way off base?

No, I wouldn't say that you are way off base. Of course I personally think that 105/205 are worth the little extra cash over the UC and #80, but that is a different issue.

Just try to pry OPII/OCII out of my hands. Orange and white 5.5" pads have accomplished the majority of my details. Including some HARD Audi paint....

Another decent product I have used is Four Star Body Shop line. Light cut and Medium cut are quite good as well, fast cutting, minimal dusting. Optimum just has the nice workability thats hard to turn your back on.....
