Which Pad for FPII?

I am trying a different polish this spring - FPII. I currenty have SSR1 and 2.5. SSR1 and a white pad seem to do nothing, and the 2.5 and orange work, but too agressive for use every few months on the same car. So I thought I would give FPII a try.

I need some new pads, currenty I have LC Organe, White and Black. What should I use with FPII. I am looking at Propel and Sonus pads.

Thanks,

Steve

I used FPII w/ a white lake country polishing pad this last weekend and it worked great. I was very pleased w/ the results.

From my testing using the PC, all of the Menzerna finishing polishes should be used with a polishing pad. There was *very* little work done with a finishing pad. Using a rotary polisher the finishing pad is your friend.:)

Well I am looking for an excuse to get a new pad or two. I was thinking the propel green pad. Any maybe one to replace my LC orange as they have seperated from the velcro.

I have used the P2 green with PFII more then once and it works great. Patrick from excel told me not the use the blue with a polish such as FPII.

I've always used a 3m perfect it black, Edge green or blue depending on condition of paint

Brilliant results, not a swirl or hologram

the green german paint finishing pad for you PC that properautocare.com sells is my favorite to use with the menzerna polishes.

Was there a reason for not using blue? It's less agressive, correct?

True to that :2thumbs:

FPII, rotary, and Meg's Finish pad get my vote for the best finish you can get

without shelling more bucks for 85RD (assumming you can still get 85RD)

No, that's a "finessing" pad and would be pretty much useless. A "polishing" or "light cut" pad by PC and a "finishing" pad by rotary.

LC White pad will do it?

What about the Meg white pad? Probably its the same,no?

Yes, the LC white pad is appropriate. Meguiar's has the yellow(8006) and the tan(9006). The yellow would be appropriate.
