Which pad and speed for applying wax?

You shouldn't get swirls if you use the PC correctly....

For LSPs, you get the best results using a finishing pad and a speed of 3-4.

First of all, I don't like using UPP by PC in the first place, since so much of it gets soaked into the pad. I think a microfiber bonnet would absorb even more of the product than a foam pad. If I'm paying $20/bottle for the stuff, I'd like to at least use it, not just wash it out of my pads and watch it go down the drain.

mm hmm.

A lot less product can be absorbed into a small foam hand applicator. That's why I prefer to use those for thin products like VM and UPP. They're so easy to use by hand anyway, I've got no reason to use a PC. There's no real polishing ability in either of them.

Au contrair (sp) Paul....i think I get a much more even application with a pc, and waste is really non negligable considering the benefit of pad anyway. Granted, the pad and product arent polishing, there just sealing, but thats what there designed for. And with sealants like BF, even approach is everything.

I would never consider using a bonnet for applicatoon or even removal. I feel there real attraction is post removal. Just as the PC elevates the polishing possibilities, so does the bonett/PC for final buffing.....Of course, this is my opinion.....=)

Everyone's free to apply their products in any way they wish. :) I enjoy the experience of applying/removing the LSP by hand. It's that last step before you stand back, and say "d*mn that looks sexy!" :D
