Which one, the PC7336 at Lowes or 7424 at CMA?

I did that and bought my 7336 ($109 - 10% off = $98).
I bought TOL pads (6/$45).
I use the supplied backing plate, and for ~$5, I bought a hook and loop conversion kit to change the backing plate to a hook and loop plate.
No problems yet.

I have been doing a ton of reading on this site and have been following this thread, so I decide to do the Coastal setup and figured I need it friday for a nasty lil job I have to do, so I do the next day air for 20 somethin bucks but cant understand while the site is telling me ground will arrive the next day, then all of a sudden like a ton of bricks I spot that Coastal is 20 minutes from my house, so I will be there tommorow for the kit and once again this site has helped me out, Thanks again.
Okay... a free bump for Ray, and my question matches the second part of Ray's that was kinda' buried in the middle.
For example... let's say I'm doing a clay - AIO - SG, and maybe a P21 topper.
What's the proper method for using the PC? I have assumed that the PC is used as an applicator to ensure a solid and even coat. This is what I did with the AIO and it was VERY easy to buff out with a MF.
The SG was where I wasn't sure which way to go.
What I did was apply by hand as usual and buffed with a wool bonnet, then followed with a MF wipe. Results were not good, but part of that was due to it getting dark. I'll see how bad (or good) she is in the morning.
Now adding a past topper to the formula... am I better off simply doing this by hand, or is the PC a good tool for this as well?

I wouldn't buy 3 yellow pads....1 or 2 is good.
I would buy 3 or 4 white pads though as you could use all of them on your car with different product steps...or if the pad is saturated and you need a new one. The yellow pad gives you extra "cutting" when needed. If you don't need it though, use only the white pads.
I applied the AIO with the PC set at 4. I added no pressure to the PC. Wiped right off.
The SG I applied by hand. Removed the next day....it was about midnight anyway. You said you used a wool bonnet:nixweiss Wool is the most aggressive pad you can use. You should be removing the SG with a MF cloth. Then adding the P21S and removing before it hazes (just makes it harder to remove and creates dust) with another MF cloth.
For a friends car I had to step up to a yellow pad with Menzerna IP and the PC set at 6. I misted the pad before working on a particular nasty spot...I got it out though.
Remember, everyone says start mild and only if needed, get more aggressive (ie a wool pad).

I just did it the easy way and ordered the The Porter Cable 7424 Ultimate Polisher Kit from the Autopia store for $179.95. Comes with the PC, 5" backing plate and 6.5" pads. I am assuming that is a complete kit but I don't see any mention of a counterweight. Anyone know if that is included?

I figured by buying it here, I support the board and I can start off with the polisher and pads. My Meguiars distributer carries additional pads and Ranney also sells them.

I would recomend buying the ultimate polisher kit from the Autopia store.great customer service,I'm extremely happy with the product and I like to support this board and the store even if it costs a few bucks more.The kit comes with 3 pads besides the one packed with the PC.I bought a few extras at the time but i havent needed them yet.The pads have held up very well:xyxthumbs

Ya... you know what they say about a little knowledge. I figured that wool is the pad of preference for a wash mit, so I figured it would be more gentle than terry, so I used terry for the AIO but wool for the SG.
I looked several places but couldn't find the Meguire's foam pads, so I bought the 5"-6" Turtle Wax bonnets and used those. The wool bonnets are in the garbage now and I have a set of foam pads and other goodies ($125!) on order from TOL.
