which LSP attracts less dusk

fng_3887, I've had the same problem and have tried many LSPs, all have been carnubas though. I'm told that carnubas generally are known for dust attraction. The problem is also compounded by using certain QDs too.

My next step is to try 4* UPP which I believe does not attract dust like the carnubas. Am I right on that guys?????

I used to think that synthetics always attrack lest dust than nuba's, but recently I have had a sealant attract dust. I think it was some static problem that many people have had but they say it goes away after the first wash. I would say many sealant manufactorers make detailing sprays that are specifically are designed to attract less dust. I have a very good luck with detailing sprays and not having any dust issues. If dust is a problem, I'd try a sealant and detailing spray combo, search your favorite sealants and find one that states this. Dust is always a concern with black, but the color is so beautiful it's worth the effort.

I found S100 keeps dust to a minamum and for me nothing attracted dust like Zaino.. I think it depends what the "local" dust is comprised of as well.

Ever since Zaino added ZFX I've never had a dust issue and with their particular QD dust is never an issue for me. S100 also doesn't "attract" dust but when dust gets on the car naturally it doesn't repel it as good as Zaino. I don't think any nubas do, but S100/p21s is still probably my favorite nuba, you just have to keep it cleaner.

No matter what you use its gonna get dark at the end of the day.

Couldnt resist.

I've had 4* UPP on my car for over a month now and it attracts dust horribly. I could feel the static when removing the UPP. Have to say though, the look of UPP is worth the dust!

But wouldn't you have the same problems with all LSPs? I do not have nearly the dust/static problem with SG or even PG and Signature.

:lol you beat me to it!

I'm not sure that I've found an LSP that doesn't attract a lot of dust.

I always find that the dust accumulation is much less after the first wash. I always wash the car the day after waxing/sealing or sometimes 2 days after.

I've had the same problem with Wolf and I've heard that's pretty much same product as UPP. I'm going to try again with another sealant on the same car to see of there's a difference. It has a very nice look too.

L33 may have hit it on the head. Static electricity, very possibly? I was using my MF towels today removing VM and 3M liquid wax and the crackling sound was amazing. We'll see if it attracts more dust than usual.

Plus, I think it has a lot to do with the environment. For instance, on a windy day I have a lot more dust on the car.

Ah, the sweet mysteries of life !!!

I added a third coat of UPP yesterday and when I took my sweatshirt off it was making a ton of noise. Something was definitely generating static out in the garage.

I notice more dust on windy days too.

More exclusive to my location is the Lake Michigan Carferry causing dust problems. Anytime we have a E or SE wind, the smoke from the carferry blows right over my house (about a mile inland) so there is a ton of black dust/soot on my car from it.

(The carferry docks in Manitowoc for 4hrs between trips to Michigan and keeps the engine running the whole time)

Usually any dusting problems subside with the first wash. Carnaubas tend to attact more dust than sealants, although I do agree with TW85 HHI about UPP, I had the same problem. Dry, windy days only made it worse.

Scottwax is right. I notice the dust attraction diminishes after the first wash with polymers and carnubas.

Yes, I find ALL LSP's attact dust. There has been many threads about dust collecting products and i've seen every product named.

And it probably goes away after the first wash because the "static" is gone, the LSP is still there.
